Young Shluchos To Gather Nightly In Expanded Learning Initiative
For five years, Young Shluchim have gathered nightly online to learn. Now, their sisters can join too. The new “Shiur-It” program gives young Shluchos the chance to study Torah and form friendships with girls around the world who share their life on Shlichus.
Tonight, as every night, hundreds of young Shluchim across three time zones, from Milwaukee to Rotterdam, will gather online for Yeshivas Erev. And now, for the first time, girls will have the same opportunity through a new program called Shiur-It.
For children growing up on Shlichus, often the only frum kids in their communities, these virtual sessions create something special, a chance to connect and learn with peers who truly understand and share their unique lives.
“Our goal is to make sure young Shluchos have the best of the best; top-of-the-line programming, real connection and community, no less than any other child growing up in a frum community,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “If anything, they need even more. They’re on the frontlines of the Rebbe’s Shlichus, and they deserve to feel appreciated and supported.”
Twice weekly, across three time zones, NY, CA, and EU, girls will gather online for 45-minute sessions focused on deepening their personal Hiskashrus to the Rebbe. Through stories, videos, games, and interactive activities, participants explore what it means to maintain that bond in their daily lives.
Each girl will receive a guided journal to reflect on lessons and apply insights from the sessions. Monthly guest speakers add variety and inspiration throughout the year.
“Our goal is to help each girl connect personally to grow in her Hiskashrus in a meaningful personal way,” said Esti Kamman, who directs the program.
Experienced Bochurim lead the boys’ sessions, while seminary and high school girls will guide the new girls’ program, creating meaningful connections between older and younger shluchim while keeping the focus on peer-to-peer learning.
“Young Shluchim might be thousands of miles apart, but through learning together online, they build real bonds with each other,” explains Rabbi Yossi Elberg, assistant director at MyShliach at Merkos 302.
MyShliach provides the platform and infrastructure that makes these connections possible. Through a digital platform, children log in to access their schedules, join live sessions, and track their progress. Parents can oversee multiple children’s accounts from one location.
“Whether it’s daily learning through Yeshivas Erev and Shiur-It, Mishnayos Baal Peh programming, Mivtzas for Yomei Di’Pagra, or connecting at regional Shabbatons. Our goal is to create a complete ecosystem that supports Yaldei Hashluchim throughout the year,” says Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz, Director of MyShliach at Merkos 302, “ Every program is designed to help them grow in Chassidishkeit and Hiskashrus while feeling part of the global Yaldei Hashluchim community.”
