Many Uplifting Gimmel Tammuz Farbrengens Held in South Broward, FL

by Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus

As the years of Shlichus keeps on growing, one of the best Peulah, activity, that continues to grow, especially as the community is today so young, is the Farbrengen, the Chassidic Farbrengens, held on special occasions and especially on Chassidic anniversaries.

This past Gimmel Tammuz, both before, on and after Gimmel Tammuz, South Broward had scores of Gimmel Tammuz Farbrengens.

A Farbrengen is a gathering of Jewish people coming together as one, recalling stories of Rebbe and Chassidim, with an emphasis of strengthening and adding to one’s Torah learning, Mitzvahs, and one’s bond to the Rebbe.

Rabbi Mordy Feiner arranged a “breath of fresh air” speaker this past Thursday night.

Rabbi Mendel Silberstein, a Shliach in Westchester (originally from Montreal), turned this Gimmel Tammuz Farbrengen into a lively and current event.

It was extremely uplifting, as Rabbi Silberstein spoke about endless miracles in Israel since October 7, 2023, and also showed very vividly how the Rebbe impacts his Shlichus every single day, with incredible stories of amazing things that has enhanced his Shlichus after visits to the Ohel.

The women also had a great Gimmel Tammuz Farbrengen last night, led by Rebbitzen Freidy Hecht. Farbrengen was at the home of Reb Meir and Brocha Cohen, and was organized by Rebbitzens Endi Tennenhaus and Brocha Feiner.

Rebbetzin Hecht told beautiful stories about her father, Reb Gershon Jacobson z”l, and conveyed a very uplifting message. Rebbetzin Goldie Tennenhaus also addressed the Farbrengen.

Personally, I am humbled by the young men and women in our community, many who never saw the Rebbe, who are extremely proactive in arranging Farbrengens, that always uplifts everyone in attendance, encouraging all of us not to be smug in our Yiddishkeit, and to practically go from strength to strength in Torah, Mitzvahs, and in spreading Yiddishkeit, Chassidus, and belief in the imminent revelation of Moshiach, NOW!
