Donor Steps In To Ensure New Moshiach Seudah Program Reaches Thousands of Families
Before Yom Tov, children in Chabad schools across the United States brought home a new program designed to help them lead their families in a Moshiach Seudah. Marking 45 years since the Rebbe focused the Acharon Shel Pesach farbrengen on the unique power of children to lead the way to Geulah, MyShliach’s Family Moshiach Seudah Farbrengen places them at the heart of this powerful and forward-looking minhag. The project was produced by MyShliach in collaboration with the Moshiach Office at Merkos 302, as part of the Festival of the Future Marketplace. A visionary partner stepped in to ensure that every student in Chabad schools across the U.S. brought home a copy.
The program, titled The MyShliach Family Moshiach Seudah Farbrengen, is meant to be used at home before families head to shul. Authored by Mrs. Rivkah Zarchi and edited by Rabbi Levi Raskin, the guide was crafted to ensure both clarity and authenticity.
Created to be interactive and engaging, the program allows the children to lead the seudah by sharing a story, starting a niggun, or guiding a conversation. With simple prompts and accessible language, the material empowers children to teach—not just participate. It also includes a Hachlatah challenge with prizes, including a bicycle, a full set of The Little Medrash Says, and a scooter.
“This program gives children a way to lead the seudah in their own homes,” said Rabbi Yossi Elberg, Assistant Director at MyShliach. “It’s structured to be simple, engaging, and meaningful—with stories, niggunim, and prompts that make it easy for children to participate and guide the experience.”
This year also marks 45 years since the Rebbe dedicated the Acharon Shel Pesach farbrengen to children in 5740 (1980), underscoring the unique importance of their role in bringing the Geulah. As the Rebbe said at that farbrengen, “Pesach is particularly connected to children… the entire story is related as a response to the children’s questions.” The Rebbe explained that just as the first days of Pesach center around the child’s curiosity at the Seder table, so too the last day highlights the child’s potential to lead with clarity and faith.
“The last days of Pesach also emphasize the involvement of children,” the Rebbe continued. “The Gemara relates that the Jewish children recognized Him first.’” At Krias Yamsuf, it was the children who first perceived the Aibeshter’s presence. That same clarity, the Rebbe taught, is what makes children uniquely suited to bring Moshiach into focus.
“The Rebbe saw children not just as students, but as leaders,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “Seudas Moshiach is meant to make the Geulah a reality in every home, and children have the power to bring that vision to life. When a child takes the lead—even in a small way—it can uplift an entire family.”
“Right now we are in the generation before Moshiach, and we must taste ‘from every dish’ of the Giluyim that will occur then. Therefore, now as well, young children must become leaders,” the Rebbe said, “turning the hearts of their parents to Torah.” That idea is central to the guide’s design. By giving children the tools to take initiative, it enables the kind of leadership the Rebbe saw as necessary for this generation.
Families are encouraged to take a few minutes before heading to shul to sit down with the guide their child brought home and use the material inside to create a seudah the child will remember.
The MyShliach Moshiach Seudah program is one of several tools developed through Festival of the Future to help schools and families connect with the message of Geulah in a tangible and lasting way this Acharon Shel Pesach.
