Now Streaming: The Full Farbrengen of 11 Nissan 5737

A Historic Moment — Restored, Enhanced, and More Relevant Than Ever

Just in time for 11 Nissan, JEM is proud to release the fully restored Farbrengen of 11 Nissan 5737—marking the Rebbe’s 75th birthday, and now available to watch in full on JEM.tv.

This five-hour Farbrengen, took place just days before Pesach which began on Motzoei Shabbos, an uncommon calendrical occurrence that occurs again this year, making it especially relevant and timely.

Throughout the Farbrengen, Chassidim and guests approached the Rebbe to say L’chaim, and many presented personal gifts—including a striking portrait by two Russian artists. A growing collection of these tokens can be seen accumulating on the Rebbe’s table throughout the evening, adding a deeply personal dimension to the historic gathering.

This release was generously sponsored by Dovid and Dorit Blachman, in honor of their dear parents, Eli & Sara Blachman and Eli & Nettie Mizrachi.

The Restoration

To make this Farbrengen accessible in its fullest form, JEM undertook a complex and extensive restoration effort:

  • Footage from multiple cameras was merged
  • Missing audio sections were painstakingly restored, including a full hour that was originally silent
  • Carefully selected photos were added to fill in moments of personal interaction

The result: the clearest and most complete experience of this Farbrengen ever produced

Highlights from the Farbrengen

1. The Power of Ahavas Yisrael and Tzedakah
In a timeless and passionate Sicha, the Rebbe expands on the mitzvah of loving one’s fellow—especially through tzedakah. He calls for generosity beyond the letter of the law, connecting it to the Pesach campaigns, and the broader effort to care for every Jew.

2. Ensuring Every Jew Can Celebrate Freedom
The Rebbe speaks movingly about Jews in hospitals and prisons, urging efforts to ensure they too can celebrate Pesach in a meaningful and joyous way. “Freedom” isn’t only physical—it’s something we must help every Jew access.

3. A Rare Insight into the Uncommon Kvius
With Pesach falling on Motzoei Shabbos, the Rebbe addresses the spiritual and halachic significance of this rare occurrence, offering insight into how it elevates the preparations and the experience of the holiday.

4. Preserving Joy at the Seder
In an especially poignant talk, the Rebbe speaks out against inserting mourning into the Seder—such as Holocaust memorial additions or symbols of Soviet Jewry—arguing that while these causes are sacred, the Seder must remain a time of unmitigated joy, as mandated by Torah.

5. The Maamar: “In Haste You Left Egypt”
The Rebbe’s Chassidic discourse explores the meaning of “chipazon” (haste)—in our Divine service, in God’s response, and in the Exodus itself. It’s a journey through faith, action, and redemption that feels just as urgent today.
