JEM Launches AI-Powered Access to the Rebbe’s Teachings
In a world filled with complex challenges and tough questions—whether confronting antisemitism in the classroom, navigating difficult relationships, or searching for deeper meaning in life—finding real answers can feel daunting. JEM is changing that with JEMai, a groundbreaking AI-powered tool that connects you directly to authentic, sourced answers from the Rebbe’s teachings—drawn from video recordings of public talks, personal encounters, and JEM interviews that recount those moments. The result is powerful guidance and inspiration, available anytime, anywhere.
“This project is the fulfillment of something the Rebbe taught repeatedly,” said Rabbi Elkanah Shmotkin, Executive Director of JEM. “Every new frontier, every technological development, must be harnessed, with the greatest care, in order to share Torah’s timeless truth.”
Technology Meets Trust
Unlike typical AI tools, JEMai doesn’t generate content—it pulls directly from JEM’s meticulously preserved archives: thousands of hours of recorded talks, films and first-person accounts from the My Encounter oral history project.
Every answer is accompanied by source links, allowing users to either watch the Rebbe’s exact words or read about personal encounters—in full context.
“JEMai is more than just a search tool,” said Rabbi Mendel Gourarie, Director of Technology. “It’s a bridge—connecting people of all backgrounds to the Rebbe’s wisdom in a way that’s simple, accurate, and deeply personal. You don’t need to be an expert. If you have a question, JEMai will help you find an authentic answer.”
Before launch, a scholarly team carefully reviewed JEMai’s output for clarity, accuracy, and faithfulness to the Rebbe’s words—and continues to rigorously monitor it. Early access users are encouraged to continue this refinement by sharing their invaluable feedback.
“To us, authenticity is paramount,” explained Rabbi Dovid Goldberg, lead scholar on the project. “The Rebbe taught us to publish with care and purpose. JEMai was built to reflect that.”
A Monumental Collaboration
The development of JEMai was made possible by the visionary support of Mr. Igor Tulchinsky, CEO of WorldQuant, whose generosity helped bring this groundbreaking AI tool to life.
“What excites me most about this project is the opportunity to use technology to bring the wisdom of the Rebbe—one of the most intelligent, prophetic, and remarkable figures in history—to a global audience,” said Mr. Tulchinsky. “By leveraging AI to analyze and synthesize his extensive teachings, we can share his insights in ways that make a meaningful impact on the world.”
At the heart of JEMai is the Living Archive, preserved thanks to the generosity of The Rohr Family Foundation and Benyamin Federman, in tribute to his parents. Years of dedicated work in tagging and organizing the archive were funded by the Grinshtein Family, Eliyahu and Inna Kholodenko and family, George and Pamela Rohr, and Zusha and Shulamis Tenenbaum.
