No One Should Have to Choose Between Food and Dignity
In South Florida, many families face a quiet but familiar struggle: the challenge of putting food on the table while juggling rent, transportation, childcare, and basic bills. Some are seniors living on fixed incomes. Others are single parents, doing everything they can to raise their children while working full time. Many fall into the “in-between” — earning just enough to not qualify for assistance, but not enough to live comfortably.
When budgets are tight, food is often the first thing to be cut. Grocery lists shrink. Meals get skipped. And for too many families, Shabbos and Yom Tov become just another source of stress, instead of the joy and peace they’re meant to bring.
That’s where the Chabad Food Fund steps in — quietly, consistently, and compassionately.
Each week, the Chabad Food Fund provides fresh, kosher food packages to individuals and families throughout South Florida. These packages aren’t just boxes of groceries — they’re care packages filled with dignity and tradition. Inside you’ll find challah and chicken, produce and pantry staples, holiday items and essentials for Shabbos. Everything is selected with thought and packed with love.
It’s not just about the food. It’s about restoring a sense of peace, a feeling of celebration, and a reminder that someone cares. That they’re not alone.
The Chabad Food Fund serves a wide range of people:
• Working families trying to stretch every dollar
• Single parents juggling bills and daycare
• Seniors lighting Shabbos candles in empty kitchens
Many of them are working hard. Some are juggling multiple jobs. But with rising costs — rent, gas, groceries — they’re still coming up short. And when a full fridge becomes a luxury, the ability to prepare a proper Shabbos meal feels out of reach.
Every year, thousands of pounds of food are distributed by the Chabad Food Fund. And every delivery is more than just a meal — it’s a message: “We see you. We care. You’re part of this community.”
There’s no fanfare. No headlines. Just quiet kindness, delivered week after week.
But the impact? It’s life-changing.
Behind each box is a story. A sigh of relief. A smile from a child. A Friday night table that’s full again.
Behind each delivery is someone like you — someone who gives, shares, and believes that no one should go hungry.
If you’d like to be part of that story, you can help in a simple and powerful way.
What started off as a simple project in the living room, now 30 years later is still going strong feeding more people than ever imagined.
What makes us special is that we are a completely volunteer-based organization, so any money you donate goes right to buying food and straight to people’s kitchens
