
BDE: Reb Mottel Kalmanson, 85, OBM
With great sadness we report the passing of Reb Mottel (Mordechai Leib) Kalmanson OBM, a true Lubavitcher chosid who would organize the annual Shpoler Zaide seduah in Crown Heights. He passed way on Shabbos, Chof Tes Adar, 5785.
Reb Mottel Kalmanson was a true Lubavitcher chosid of the Rebbe and lived his life fulfilling the Rebbe peulos.
For many years he would organized the annual shpoler zaide seduah in Crown Heights and got a bottle of mashke from the rebbe for it.
In 1976 for the rebbes 74th birthday reb mottel was part of a group of chassidim that purchased the first mitzvah tank in Israel and presented the keys to the rebbe by the yud alef nissan farbraingen.
In Later years the same group purchased a new car for the rebbe.
He is survived by his wife Leah Kalmanson, and his children Mendy Kalmanson (New Haven, CT) and Bassie Deitsch (New Haven, CT), as well as grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings: Miriam Blizinsky (Crown Heights), Sholom Ber Kalmanson (Cincinnati, OH), and Baila Greenbaum (Los Angeles, CA).
He was pre-deseaced by: his father R’ Yisroel Shimon Kalmanson and mother, Chaya Sarah, and sister Rochel Heber.
The Levaya will take place tomorrow, Sunday, 12:00pm passing by 770 and 1:00pm at the cemetery.
