Mayor of Kharkov Grateful to the Rebbe for Sending Shluchim to Kharkov

In honor of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s 121st birthday and the upcoming holiday of Pesach, the mayor of Kharkov, Igor Terechov came to congratulate the Jewish community. He made special mention of the Rebbe’s contribution to the world saying “we are especially grateful in Kharkov to the Rebbe for sending his emissaries to our city in 1990. The festival of Pesach is a symbol of freedom which is so significant for us now in Ukraine”.

Rabbi Moshe Moskovitz shared the Rebbe’s message of each and everyone adding more good deeds to make the world a better and brighter place and to ensure that everyone brings another Jew to the seder and thinks of those who are in need of help.

A fun Matzah bakery for children and parents was a real hands-on Pesach experience, run by Rabbi Yaakov Yakimenko followed by a farbrengen for all.

Over two tons of matzah have been given out to the Jews in the city and hundreds have signed up to the seder despite the curfew and darkness in the city by nightfall. The Jewish community in Kharkov will be joining those throughout Ukraine in praying that this year Pesach will be celebrated with peace and freedom!
