Gan Yisroel Ukraine Completes Another Strong Year

This is the third year in a row that Camp Gan Yisroel in Ukraine opens its doors with over 40 children from all over Ukraine.

At first glance, it seems that the camp is similar to its predecessors, but this year the camp has reached a level not seen previously in the Ukrainian summer.

Director of the camp Hatomim Schneur Shuchat, in collaboration with Cheder Or Menahem in Kyiv, headed by Rabbi Shmuel Azman, invested considerable resources to give the children of Shluchim the most, and the result was indeed visible.

The location: Anatevka, a pastoral village nestled in the outdoors, is characterized by clear air and a special peace that prevails there. The village built by the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine and the Rebbe’s emissary to Kiev Rabbi Moshe Reuven Azman, has today become a pillar of authentic Jewish life.

The vast grounds, as well as the playground and soccer fields that are permanently housed on the premises, matched exactly and provided both physical and spiritual enjoyment for the campers.

The trips: A variety of trips awaited the campers, which included the science museum, an indoor Luna Park that houses a large range of top-notch roller coasters, go-karting, a guided tour of fighter jets and a host of aerial battlefields, paintball, bowling, ice skating and more.

The highlight was a trip to Nezhin, to the Kever of the Mittler Rebbe, where the campers said Tehillim, Davened for Moshiach and of course broke into dancing and singing to “Shluchei Adoneinu”.

Activities: A variety of challenging activities that the campers enjoyed included: escape from Russia, Hasidic trivia, Talent night and more.

After 2 weeks filled with exciting trips and activities the campers found it difficult to leave and say goodbye to the place from which they achieved so much, but with tears they separated from their beloved counselors and promised to continue with our mission until the revelation of Moshiach and the building of the Bais Hamikdosh.
