Each time the Rebbe distributed dollars, individuals were touched and lives were impacted.  Presented here are photos of several highlights and encounters from Sunday Dollars of 7 Av 1990 (5750).

From the spring of 1986 on, every Sunday, the Rebbe would stand and distribute dollars, to be given to charity, to anyone who came by his door. Thousands stood in line each week, and to every person he received, the Rebbe offered a blessing, some encouragement, or a word of advice.

The Sunday of 7 Av 1990 was no different. The Rebbe saw countless people from all walks of life and had time for them all – including an expecting mother, an Israeli general, a popular author, and a non-religious teenager, among others.

Rabbi Kanelsky brought Mr. Moshe Braud to the Rebbe in honor of his donation. Mr. Braud tells the Rebbe, “I don’t need any more blessings, I’ve been blessed in the past. I wish that you bless Rabbi Kanelsky and the work that he does.” The Rebbe responds, “nevertheless, every person needs blessings, as I need, Rabbi Kanelsky needs and all Jews need, the main thing is to have Moshiach now. Bracha V’hatzlacha, for the extra blessing.”
Rabbi Simcha Ashlag asks the Rebbe for a blessing that there be no “bad” in Israel. The Rebbe responds: “It is impossible for there to be any ‘bad’ in the Land of Israel. May there be revealed and obvious good, with peace of body and mind to study Torah’s revealed and inner dimensions.”

Author Shlomo Nakdimon asks the Rebbe if he is satisfied with the Israeli government. The Rebbe responds; “The leader of Israel’s current government must be strong like “the Shamir,” which was a unique creature that could split even the hardest rock. May he break through the “hearts of stone” around him.”
