At Chabad of Staten Island, what should have been an exciting Lag B’Omer morning became something else, when hate filled graffiti was found spray painted in their property.
The find was made in the early hours of Thursday morning, when the words “Synagogue of Satan” was was found spray painted on the side of the building.
Rabbi Moshe Katzman, the Chabad Shliach of Staten Island, told SILive that he believes the crime was done around midnight Wednesday into Thursday.
The same person had made another painting of the letters SOS just across the street at the Yeshiva Zichron Paltiel of Staten Island.
These incidents may have to do with heightened tensions within the Staten Island communities as more Orthodox Jewish people move into the neighborhood.
