Outstanding Mechanchim to Chair Kinus

Rabbi Shmuel Turk, assistant principal at the United Lubavitcher Yeshiva, Ocean Parkway branch will chair the Kinus committee and Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig, principal of the middle grades at Oholei Torah (Oholei Menachem) will co-chair the 18th Kinus HaMechanchim to be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Danbury, CT on 5-6 Tammuz, July 8th and 9th.

Rabbis Turk and Lustig will lead a Vaad of some 30 principals and melamdim from across the country who will set the theme and develop the kinus program. The program will include issues relating to curriculum, catering to different learning modalities and the personal and Chassidishe development of students.
There are plans for professional sessions, issues classroom management and the challenge helping students develop a love learning. A major theme will be how to create an atmosphere of encouragement while accepting differences, said Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, director of the Merkos Chinuch Office which sponsors the kinus.

This year’s conference will also include special sessions for Chabad principals all over the U.S. and Europe and a panel on the Rebbe’s answers to chinuch, many newly released.
