These days the spacious grounds of Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch in the suburbs of Moscow is hosting Camp Gan Yisroel for dozens of young shluchim, along with their dedicated counselors, head counselors and staff. As is customary in Lubavitch, to have one of the sheva brachos celebration in Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim, chasan Menachem Mendel Lazar and his new wife came to Camp Gan Yisroel to celebrate together with the young campers, children of Shluchim, in what turned out to be a most emotional and lively celebration.
The event was held in the Yeshiva’s large learning hall, with the Rosh Yeshiva, Mashpiim and Re”mim in attendance, along with the camp’s directors and staff. Also present were the chasan’s father, Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berl Lazar, the kallah’s father, Chief Rabbi of Berlin, Rabbi Yehuda Teichtel, the kallah’s grandfather, Chief Rabbi of Cholon, Rabbi Gourarie, family members, friends, and supporters.
It was an emotional moment for all to see the pure, young, children reciting Tanya and Mishnayos by heart in honor of the chasan and kallah. As they sang haunting camp songs about the Rebbe and chassidim, the atmosphere was charged with a special energy.
