‘Price Tag’ Attacks Continue in 770

The juvenile behavior of certain elements in 770 has gone from bad to worse in recent days. In response to the refusal of the Gabo’im to clean the elevated ‘Farbrengen Platform’ where these Bochurim congregate, they have pledged to hold the entire Shul hostage until their demands are met.

As we reported on Friday, they trashed the area around the Bimah last Thursday night and left a threatening message that the whole 770 will suffer if their demands aren’t met, along with the ‘Price Tag’ symbol. The ‘Price Tag’ symbol is usually scrawled on acts of vandalism by Israelis who retaliate against Arabs in the Holy Land.

Last night, the attacks were stepped up a notch: All the Seforim were removed from the shelves in the back of 770 and piled high on the benches where community members Daven Shachris on weekdays. Again, a threatening message with the ‘Price Tag’ Symbol was left with the mess.

CrownHeights.info contacted Rabbi Yosef Losh, a Gabbai in 770, and asked him why the Farbrengen Platform was not being cleaned. He explained that the Bochurim who congregate there have turned the area into a Kitchen / Dining room, where they prepare food, eat and leave large messes – in violation of the rules of 770 and the Halachos of Kovod Beis Medrash.

The Bochurim were warned that if they did not cease these activities, the platform would not be cleaned by the maintenance crew.

When the maintenance did indeed cease to clean the area, these Bochurim decided that instead of changing their ways and having a little respect for their gracious hosts, they would resort to vandalism and blackmail to get their way.

  • ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

I Was Raised on shlichus and as a young child i thought whoever drives on shabbos is a goy, my father had to explain to me that even though this person drives to us on shabbos and may look like a goy they are a yid just like us.

Now Crown Heights Taf Shin Eyin Gimel, We sometimes have to explain to our children that just the opposite is true, Someone may be wearing a hat and jacket and come to shul and daven BUT THEY ARE NOT LIKE US, THEY ARE LIKE GOYIM.

  • Enough!

Enough with the camera talk! It is foolish to even mention it.

These people that are doing this stuff and making it miserable to daven in 770 are well known. The hanhala knows who they are, and you can even see a picture of the guy sweeping the mess here on this site!

It is high time that the hanhala is held accountable to deal with these individuals… be it by revoking their visas and removing them from the yeshiva owned dorm buildings and by setting an example that here you cannot come and behave this way.

If they (the hanhala) doesn’t do something, nothing anyone will do will help, even if we keep on exposing who they are because doing that without something happening as result is as useless as idle gossip.

    ENOUGH!

  • Braun Braun Braun

braun left Sydney so peace is breaking out, braun came to crown heights and mayhem rules galore.

if the gaboyium really cared they would just shut all the lights like the rebbe told the gaboyim that they must shut the lights every night at 11 o’clock (never heard about it? well its a fact and that’s the way it used to be for many years).

and who started the kitchen/ballroom/deafening disco noise (blasting the mic in 770 for 3 people sitting by his siyumim so nobody could daven or learn) in 770? oh, it was gerlitzky (oops he IS a gabai) wh turn 770 into a social hall.

and who allowed 770 to become a discotheque not just for one or two months of Adar but all year round when the mashchisim make their chatunat hageula (what’s that? you weren’t in 770 for a while, in simple terms when a relative of one of the terrorists get married they make him a mock wedding [yes, mockery of the holiness of 770] with disco music and drinks on the house under the leadership of the great mashpia kuti rapp).

and who allowed 770 to become a place where every tom dick & harry who has a birthday or some other bellyache just comes in takes a table and makes a party?

they care for nothing but some imaginary kovod to give out aliyos and stand on the bimah together with some terrorists and their protective rabbais

    enjoy the mess

  • Dont Daven there no more

Excuse me but what do you mean “enough with the camera talk”?!

Why do you think they where put up in the first place?
I think, it was put up because of security and terrorism.
So, lets use the darn things to catch the terrorists and make the place more secure :)

I thing the only “solution” is to find out who did it with the security cameras and then deal with them.

  • All their actions are l-sheim shomayim

These bochurim have good intentions and act l’sheim shomayim. They mamesh live in 770 – learning eating and sleeping in the Daled Amos. What exactly is wrong with that??? To punish them by not cleaning the platform area is pure discrimination against those who are 100% devoted to the Rebbe Melech Mamoshiach b’lev v’nefesh. Those who hate them and treat them like a “Kat” are like the misnagdim of yesteryear who put chassidim in cherem and evicted them from shuls.

  • Remember the 1960-s

Remember back in the 60’s when we had sit-ins and protests too. When we were their age we also fought the “establishment” and didn’t trust anyone over 30. We also trashed symbols of the establishment while we preached for love and peace. are they any different??? Let them live because the older folks let us live too.

WHERE ARE THE SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS? WE CANNOT CONTROL SICK PEOPLE BUT WE CAN BE RESPONSIBLE TO CATCH AND STOP THEM.
#1……there are really alot of nice goyim, so its not that those people are like goyim. They are like“ meshugoyim”
it is a sick psychopathic way to act. How utterly sad that they are so very sick.
They do not really know what Torah, Chassidus and Rebbe are all about. get the cameras, they can’t help themselves. don’t be naieve

  • Mendel

Enough complaining! If anyone cares about this, do something to prevent it (i.e. don’t give visas to Taliban in the future).

If no one has done that, obviously this is the new 770 and you either suck it up or daven elsewhere.

770 has stopped being the Rebbe’s shul 18 years ago.

  • klei Chamas YES!

you people think that this is bad I think that 770 looks better like this, and it actually shows that people use the seforim which are there for a reason To learn and to be used & not to sit on the shelf ! Because you never show up to shul and stay till the end of davening therefore you don’t know what it’s supposed to look like! So let me tell you, that’s what any shul looks like. so the Aven ha Bochan mi kol hanal is to start coming to Shul & staying until the end of davening. Y.E.S!

  • disgusted

these bochurim should be arrested and charged for tresspassing and vandalism an put into cherim for making a chillul hashem they need to be thrown out of crown heights

  • American Bochurim from gaza

Me and 12 other American Bochurim learn on the farbrengen bimah and the Israelis don’t make a mess there. There is a broom there and everyday someone else sweeps up. The dirt is there from shabbos farbrengens which happen every week and its the gaboyims job to clean it just like they clean the rest of shul. After looking into why the bimah is not being cleaned I was told by a very reliable source that the gabboyim and the yeshiva are in a fight about who should pay for the shul expenses. (This is why there is no ac or heat during yeshivah hours in the yeshiva locations) the bimah according to the gabboyim is exlusevily the yeshiva and has no connection to the gabboyim . This is due to the fact that no minyanim ever happen there. However in every other part of 770 minyanim do happen so it is the gabboyim achrayus to keep it clean and pleasant. The yeshiva however doesn’t want to pay for any expenses . This matter has been going on for a while and the gabboyim are now putting their foot down. But not to look bad in he eyes of he public they blame verything on the tzfatim and say they are the bad ones.

Just shut the lights at 10:59PM every night!!!
Lock the doors at 11:01PM every night!!!
TO #7….. since when did 770 turn into a dining hall??

  • Ugh!

What does it mean? What’s a “price tag sign” and what is the threat and what do they want?

  • dr

CHILDREN, GO TO YOUR ROOMS, YOU ARE NOT BEHAVING.
and besides, this is really a nightmare. how can people live by thriving on this misery? I just stay away and enjoy doing my inyonim of the Rebbe elsewhere.

    To Number 7:

Your sick in the head, you need a doctor.

Stop justifying and excusing these thug like behavior!

Stop justifying and excusing acts of violence!

    Stop justifying and excusing MESIRA!!!!

Oh wait I forgot, all what they do including violence and MESIRA is done with good intentions and l’sheim shomayim.

In B’tachat Shulchan Aruch Ha’meshicihstim, Chalek ‘Lo Yaha V’Lo Nevrah’, where it discusses how one can do whatever he wants as long as hes a Meshichist who does things with good intentions and l’sheim shomayim.

But in the Shulchan Aruch of the Jewish people, there is no such nonsense.

Again, I strongly advise you to see a doctor.

  • Yossel

And meanwhile the shaved wacko with the knives and tools hanging from his belt and his 300 pound knapsack is still in 770, harrassing everyone for money…

  • Disgrace to the Rebbes Shul

If they r there and do everything including eat and sleep there “ lshaim shomaim” , then they should clean up lshaim shomaim too .

  • Anon

#1 If you had a clue, you’d know that goyim don’t do such things in their holy places. They don’t get drunk, leave food everywhere, desecrate, talk during services like many do in shul. Get off your self righteous high horse.

    Meshugoyim? More like meshuYIDDEN.

  • we care

770 was never clean i remember years ago sforim wore all over. … in the entrance to the women shul there wore begs of sforim on the floor the shul was always dirty. there was never kavod hatore and derech erets there. it time to stop and look maybe that why so many children are off the derech for zilzul beit kneses . we need new gaboyim and caring mispalelim. leren hilchos beis hakneses

  • Be nice to them

These are children, just like YOURS. Do your children ALWAYS please you? No, children sometimes make bad choices. What should we do when a child misbehaves? Hit them or love them??? The comments sound like people who never grew up – as parents we know children need UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Give it to your children and to these children!!!

  • Sick People

I totally agree with comment #18.

Comment #7 does need a doctor and ASAP.

To my dear sick friend #7:

Would theft be ok as long as it’s done with good intentions and l’sheim shomayim?

Would rape be ok as long as it’s done with good intentions and l’sheim shomayim?

Where is your red line? Explain why that would be your red line?
