8:00pm: Newly Discovered Manuscript Sheds Light on 3 Tammuz

This week’s edition of MyLife: Chassidus Applied with Rabbi Simon Jacobson, Episode 23, will air tonight, Sunday, here on CrownHeights.info beginning at 8:00pm. This week’s class is titled Connecting to the Rebbe, and Keeping Up Inspiration When Feeling “Burned Out”.

With two days left, Gimmel Tammuz is on the mind of every Chabad Chassid. Thousands of people will be pouring into Crown Heights this week. But what does this enigmatic day mean? Questions continue to stream in about Gimmel Tammuz and about the Rebbe’s role in our lives today. In response, tonight’s episode will continue where we left off in last Sunday’s Special Rebbe Edition of MyLife. Why can’t I be a nice frum Jew, like so many others are, without a Rebbe? Is it our job to convince others that our Rebbe should be their Rebbe? Can you elaborate on the proper observance of the day?

This episode will also dive into the personal relationship one has with the Rebbe, seeking to answer the question of inspiration and motivation to remain strong and observant, especially when we are worn out. Rabbi Jacobson will also reveal for a newly discovered manuscript from the Mitteler Rebbe, never before seen by the public and published, which can shed light on Gimmel Tammuz and the last 20 years.

Some of the topics in this Sunday’s hour-long broadcast will include:

* Can I be frum with no Rebbe?
* Should we convince others to accept the Rebbe?
* Follow-up: Observing Gimmel Tammuz
* If there is one thing I can do on Gimmel Tammuz, what would it be?
* Advice about getting inspired when “burning out”

MyLife: Chassidus Applied addresses questions that many people are afraid to ask and others are afraid to answer. When asked about the sensitive topics he has been addressing, Rabbi Simon Jacobson commented, “I understand that the stakes are high, but the silence and lack of clarity on matters plaguing the community can no longer go unaddressed. The stakes of not providing answers are even higher.”

The on-going series has provoked a significant reaction from the community, with thousands of people viewing each live broadcast and hundreds of questions pouring in. At the root of every question and personal challenge tackled by the series is the overarching question: Does Judaism have the answers to my personal dilemmas?

In inimitable “Jacobson-fashion”, the broadcast answers people’s questions in simple, clear language while being heavily sourced. Each episode is jam-packed with eye-opening advice from the Rebbeim, gleaned from uncovering surprising gems in their letters, sichos and maamorim that address our personal issues with disarming relevance. Simultaneously, Rabbi Jacobson is able to crystallize a concept quickly, succinctly, and poignantly for any level of listener.

All episodes are immediately available for viewing in the MLC’s archive and can be downloaded as MP3’s for listening on the go.

    that many times most are midakdaik on periods /milestones…however is this disingenious to now say that a generation is not really a specific time and a new one wont start soon,,,,every sicha is deciphered for remozim and nothing is taken lightly and rightly so…but i hope we wont have to deny that 7th gen bidavka may have painted a tiny corner for all to fit into,,,
