Sydney Does Good Deeds to #BringBackOurBoys
This past Sunday, over 250 members of the Sydney Jewish community gathered at Australia’s iconic Bondi Beach to show their support for the parents of the three kidnapped boys in Israel.
Under the direction of Dana Amir from Hagshama Sydney, the crowd held up a banner with the hashtag #BringBackOurBoys, as photographers and the general public took pictures. This was followed by Rabbi Danny Yaffe from Young Adult Chabad encouraging the community to take upon themselves Mitzvos and good deeds, explaining that the Jewish nation is one body, and just like when one part of the body hurts, the entire body feels it, so too with the Jewish people. “We need to strengthen ourselves to help heal the entire body; this is achieved by doing Mitzvos, which strengthens the Jewish nation and will help bring the boys home,” he said.
Many of the men put on Tefillin under the direction of Rabbi Chida Levitansky and Rabbi Benny Barukh and women committed to lighting Shabbos Candles, not to mention numerous sign-ups to volunteer their time with Our Big Kitchen in Bondi.
