Young Professionals’ Shabbaton Coming to CH

Crown Heights will become a vacation destination for many hardworking young Jewish professionals on May 18-20. Shluchim across North America are urging their YJP contingencies to take a break from the daily grind to refresh, network, and, most importantly, experience Shabbos.

Boasting great networking opportunities, exquisite dining, and thought-provoking sessions, highlights will include opening remarks by President and CEO of 5WPR Ronn Torossian, along with motzei Shabbos wine and cheese. Additionally, guest speaker Gil Heart, respected CEO and former officer in the IDF’s most elite special forces unit, will show that mastery of mind over heart can save you in both battle and the workforce.

Campus shluchim are taking this opportunity to connect with their alumni, marketing the NYJP Shabbaton as a reunion for all their past students that have graduated into the workforce.

“This shabbaton is long overdue,” relates Rabbi Yisroel Bernath of Montreal, “and we’re working very hard to make the sure that it’s all worth the wait.”

The shabbaton is being spearheaded by Tzach and a team of seven shluchim from around the US and Canada. As momentum and interest have swelled since Tzach’s YJP kickoff event last year, Chabad on Campus International and Merkos Suite 302 have joined the initiative, providing their expertise and extensive network.

“We are very proud to have the opportunity to get involved with these ambitious young men and women,” says Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, vice chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch and chairman of Chabad on Campus International, “and we look forward to an impressive turnout after last year’s success.”

Adds Rabbi Kasriel Kastel, program director of Tzach, “We are confident that this shabbaton will inspire all those who attend to use that force to connect to and strengthen their Yiddishkeit, even once they go back to their day-to-day lives out in the world.”
