Nesenoff Farbrengen Inspires Crown Heights Girls
Amid his travels to all corners of the globe, noted lecturer Dr. David Nesenoff stopped off in Crown Heights for a special farbrengen with the students of Beis Rivkah High School and Seminary.
The students gathered in the Rubashkin home on President Street to be humored and inspired for hours by the world-renowned speaker.
Nesenoff’s daughter, Shira, a student at Beis Rivkah Seminary, twisted her father’s arm to make a stop off in Brooklyn to join her friends, classmates and local students so that they can hear the stories and spiritual messages that her father has been traveling the world delivering.
The speech, which has been compared to a one-man show rather than a lecture, is filled with great humor and substance. The man who took down Helen Thomas from the White House uses that historical moment to expose a greater message of the importance of “doing Jewish,” to not only counteract the “anti-Jewish” in the world, but “to fulfill our own personal lives by following Torah and Mitzvos.”
The students found themselves in deep hysterical laughter as they listened to real-life true escapades of Dr. Nesenoff and his son Adam, who is now studying at Ohelei Torah in Crown Heights. “I use humor like mashke at a farbregen,” Nesenoff said. “I get the audience to open their mouths with laughter and then I throw in a message and a lesson.”
Questions were also taken from the audience. One Beis Rivka Seminary student seemed curious about Nesenoff’s years as a Conservative Jew and Rabbi: “What do non-observant Jews think about us?” Nesenoff shared that there are wide range of answers, “They actually feel everything from guilt, intimidation, confusion, looked down upon, but ultimately their Jewish neshamas are screaming out with envy and desiring to be close to Torah and mitzvos.”
Even more than a favor for his daughter, Nesenoff saw great purpose in addressing this audience. “I have travelled to literally hundreds of Chabad communities in the world,” Nesenoff said. “But these girls are the future shluchos and leaders; it’s important and an honor to help inspire and move them as well.” Nesenoff added, “Many of these young ladies’ parents are Shluchim; and Shlucim are my heroes.”

Concerned
A farbrengen?
maybe a speech, presentation, gathering
I would want to see payos and beard, before calling it a farbrengen, a title that should have some more respect and meaning
same goes for bullshoving and drinking parties

BZ-IN-LV
He is no doctor, medical or of philosophy.
He went to YU, but his “rabbinic” ordination was from the JTS.
Should his hashgafa be allowed in our schools?
B”H, his kids are doing great. But many of our kids, good children, have parents with perspectives that are alien to our Torah based values.
Yes, I know about his Mel Gibson, Helen Thomas and Denny’s involvement (and achievements), but is appropriate venue for a Conservative Rabbi?

Hey BZ in LV
Before you get yourself into some big trouble with Lashon Horah … why don’t you shoot me an email so we can talk. This past year I spoke at over 350 Chabad centers in the world on Shlichus for the Rebbe. Please refrain from speaking about things you know nothing about, it only causes great damage in the world… not to mention your neshama. I can be reached at nesenoff@gmail.com PS I have led farbregens at Chabad yeshivas all over the world.

He says it like it is, something a few so-called Lubavitchers could learn from.
