Kehot’s Prolific Year: 46 New Seforim Printed
At the conclusion of the outgoing year, Kehot Publication Society and Merkos Publications have released some figures for the last four quarters. Some 145 out-of-print Seforim have been reprinted alongside 46 new titles, for a total of over 500,000 copies printed.
“We have, thank G-d, published 46 new titles and have reprinted 145 out-of-print books,“ said Kehot’s Rabbi Yosef B. Friedman. “The sheer numbers are staggering as these figures translate into more than 500,000 books printed in one year!”
Of special significance is the reprinting of the entire 41-volume set of Ohr Hatorah, which contains the prodigious writings of the “Tzemach Tzedek,” third leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch.
Also of great importance is the printing, sponsored by Rabbi Dovid and Gitty Fischer, of one of the most famous series of maamarim in Chabad teachings, Vekacha—5637, by the forth Rebbe, the Rebbe Maharash.
Other titles published this year include:
Maamarei Admur Hazaken 5573; Igros Kodesh Mittleler Rebbe; Igros Kodesh Tzemach Tzedek; Torat Shalom–Sha’alot v’Teshuvot ;Penini Levi Yitzchak by the Rebbe’s father, and more.
The liturgy department produced a Hebrew version of the Annotated Siddur and Machzor; compact editions of the Hebrew English Machzorim and a Yom Kippur Machzor with interpolated Hebrew commentary.
And to help understand the daily prayers–a complete makeover of the all-time favorite My Prayer by the late Dr. Nissan Mindel.
Also off the press this year are two new additions to the ever-growing Chasidic Heritage Series library: Faith & Knowledge and All For the Sake of Heaven.
New in the Merkos Youth Library are boxed-sets of Five Novelettes by Marcus Lehman and Galuth Melodies by Gershon Kranzler, both classic Merkos Publications.
