Photos: YSP Grand Trip to Maryland and Virginia
The campers and staff of the Yeshiva Summer Program in Morristown, NJ enjoyed a multi-day grand trip, which culminated in a visit to the Busch Gardens theme park in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The journey began early Monday morning at 3:00am. The Talmidim piled on to the buses and headed off. At about 7:00am they arrived at the Chabad House of Colombia, Maryland, where they davened Shachris and ate breakfast.
Next stop was the Sandy Springs Adventure Park – the largest aerial rope course in North America, with over 13 different tree-climbing challenges.
Afterwards the talmidim went bowling. In true YSP style, the screens were all playing Avraham Fried concerts and the boys’ names were already entered into the system so the fun could begin right away.
The bowling experience was followed by a boating experience. In Annapolis, the historic capital of Maryland, the boys set sail on an old fashioned ship in true colonial style.
After docking, they davened Maariv and retired to bed at the Clarion Inn, exhausted after a long and fun-filled day.
The highlight of the trip was on Tuesday, when the entire Yeshivas Kayitz arrived in historic Williamsburg, Virginia for an action-packed day at Busch Gardens.
Over 383 acres in size, the park is divided into seven sections, each themed to a different European country. It has been rated the most beautiful park in the US for 23 consecutive years. It has a wide variety of rides and roller coasters, including the latest: Verbolten, which opened this past spring, and The Griffon, which has the tallest dive of any coaster in the United States.
The boys returned to camp rejuvenated and in great spirits, looking forward to another day of learning and fun in YSP.
