The Flatbush Mega-Event – Lag b’Omer

The Mayan Yisroel Boys Marching Band is hard at work drumming away, getting ready for the Flatbush Mega-Event on Sunday, an annual tradition in Flatbush over the past few years.

Lag B’omer is an island of celebration in the midst of the mourning of Sefiras ha’Omer, during which 24000 Talmidim of Rabi Akiva died. They were punished for lack of Achdus.

What better way to celebrate Lag B’Omer then, than with a grand show of community Achdus.

Rabi Shimon bar Yochai wanted everyone to rejoice on his Yahrzeit, on the day he completed his mission for which his Neshama was sent to this world.
This year’s Lag B’Omer Event promises to be the grandest event ever. With a Parade and concert by Benny Friedman and Dovid Stein.

The Rollerblades Stunt Show will keep everyone entertained along with a Bonfire, Raffles, Prizes, Barbeque. Story time with the one and only Rabbi Yitzy Erps, Tehillim and plenty more – will all be featured. With clowns and jugglers and dancing.

“Our goal is to promote achdus”, said Rav Yoseph Vigler, Rov of Mayan Yisroel, “and we always make sure to put Chinuch at the top of our list. The purpose is Torah, Tefillah and Tsedaka together, but it all has to be done in a fun way so the children love it and the whole family is inspired!”
This Sunday Lag B’Omer, Chai Iyar – April 28, at Mayan Yisroel’s Flatbush Event.

Gathering for the Parade will be at 230pm on East 31 Street Between Ave M and Ave N.

All kids who bring a friend to the March will receive a free door prize. At 3pm, led by the marching band and Mayan Yisroel’s Youth Rabbi Blesofski, floats and all, the Parade will march to Mayan Yisroel 3307 Ave N where the rest of the event will be held on the avenue.

Be there, rain or shine. Admission is free. Separate seating.

Bring a friend to the March at 230pm on East 31 between M& N and you both receive a Free gift. First 500 kids.

“So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, mammies and tatties, bobbies and zaydies make sure you are at the mega-event. When everyone is talking about it in the weeks to follow make sure you can say ‘I was there’.”
