Would Rabbi Infinity Please Stand Up
Last week in Toronto, KabbalahToons creator, Rabbi Tzvi Freeman, spoke with a live audience about his animated brainchild and revealed some of the deeper ideas hidden within the popular series.
In the presentation, Freeman showed his audience various episodes of the series and then described to them some of the creative process that went into bringing about the final product. He also offered further explanation of some of the more difficult concepts from chasidus portrayed in the cartoons.
KabbalahToons first appeared on Jewish.TV four years ago and since then has become one of the most consistently popular features on the Chabad.org video site. As evidenced from the extremely active discussion in the comments forum on the author’s blog post accompanying each episode, KabbalahToons fans are eager to get to the bottom of the deep meanings and messages hidden within its deceptively simple format. It seems logical then that the real “Rabbi Infinity,” Freeman himself, would finally step out from behind the animated facade and present KabbalahToons to his fans face-to-face.
Freeman said about the project, “[that] the best things are found in the craziest places. Who would think that someone would plant the secrets of life in some loony cartoons?”
