Tzfat Chief Rabbi Tests Tzeirei HaShluchim Students

Yeshivat Tzeirei HaShluchim – Tzfat bochurim continued to impress with their baal peh Gemara knowledge, this time following a visit and test with Tzfat Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu.

“The extent of your knowledge and you’re the solid command you’ve achieved in your studies is impressive and you’ve done well,” Rabbi Eliyahu told the students following the examination.

A longstanding friend and colleague of Tzfat’s many Shluchim and Chabad Rabbanim, including former Head Shliach Rabbi Aryeh Leib Kaplan, A”H, and former regional Chief Rabbi Levi Bistritzky, A”H, Eliyahu commented that the yeshiva’s spiritual growth and success was complemented by its beautiful campus.

This visit was the second in Tzeirei HaShluchim’s baal peh testing campaign where outstanding students get tested on tens of pages of Gemara by local Rabbanim. Rabbi Yisrael Roshatzy, Rav of the Hermon Regional Council and a senior Rav among the Gerer Chassidim, helped launch the campaign when he visited the yeshiva last month.

According to Rosh HaYeshiva Rabbi Sholom Dovber Hertzel and Menahel Ruchni Rabbi Shlomo Azeraf, the bochurim are currently preparing for the next test when Rabbi Avraham Davidovich, Chief Rabbi of nearby Rosh Pina, visits.

“The bochurim are being tested every two weeks,” said Tzfat’s Head Shliach and Yeshivas Tzeirei HaShluchim Director Rabbi Chaim Kaplan. “It is part of the process of helping them achieve the goal of being tested on 100 pages from Tractate Pesachim baal peh by Israeli Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar when he visits at the end of the year.”
