At around 3:00pm this afternoon, a Hatzalah ambulance transporting a patient to the hospital crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Kingston Ave. and Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights.
The ambulance was making a right turn from Kingston Ave. onto Eastern Parkway. Despite its flashing lights and siren, the elderly driver of an old model Cadillac did not notice the ambulance and drove through the intersection, causing the ambulance to collide with it.
Thankfully, neither of the drivers, nor the patient, was injured as a result of the collision. The ambulance, however, did sustain minor damage.
The patient was transferred to a second ambulance, which took her to the hospital, while other Hatzalah volunteers remained at the scene to fill out the necessary paperwork.
