Accident Leaves Off-Duty Cop Clinging to Her Life

An off-duty female police officer crashed her motorcycle into a car on the corner of Rochester Ave. and President St. She sustained near-fatal injuries and was transported to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses said the car was making a left turn from Rochester Ave. onto President St., when the motorcycle came speeding down from the opposite direction. Without enough time to slow down, the motorcycle crashed into the car with such force that the larger vehicle spun out of control.

Fellow police officers blocked off traffic and cleared a path for the woman’s ambulance to speedily reach the hospital, possibly saving her life.

The occupants of the car did not sustain any serious injuries.

    To number 1: I agree that it is a dangerous intersection. I was very pleased when there was a new traffic signal installed at union and Rochester. It may be hard to justify another signal so close to another. Then again, maybe not.

    Two people were involved in this accident and I see prayers are only going to one. I wish the driver well. Even though he reportedly did not sustain serious physical injuries, I am sure he is quite shaken and is dealing with the mental repercussions of being in such a gruesome accident.
