Cyclist Struck and Killed on Eastern Parkway
A bicyclist was killed after veering in front of a livery cab driver on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights early Sunday morning, police said.
The unidentified man was peddling eastbound on Eastern Parkway, between Underhill and Washington avenues, in front of the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens at around 1:15am when he swerved in front of a car that was also traveling east and was struck by the vehicle, cops said.
The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
The cyclist was not carrying identification so police are still trying to figure out who he was. Investigators believe he is in his mid-30s.
The driver of the livery cab remained at the scene and no criminality is suspected, cops added.

this is not europe
bloomberg is wrong the city is no place for bikes
you're wrong
Everywhere should be a place for bikes. The driver could have been on their cell phone or maybe something happened because of the rain. We don’t know everything. Not everyone can afford a car or even want to and it’s often faster to take public transportation or bike, plus, it’s healthier. People’s mentality needs to change. If you believe in G-d then you believe when it’s time to go, you go.

How many more citizens of NY are to be killed on road accidents? Ask not what your traffic lights and signs can do for you, ask what you can do for your traffic lights and signs.
