Yehuda Lindenblatt OBM, a Holocaust survivor and the oldest active Hatzalah volunteer in NYC passed away Tuesday. NYC Mayor Eric Adams marked his passing in a post on social media.
“New York City mourns the loss of Yehuda Lindenblatt, a Holocaust survivor and the oldest Hatzolah volunteer in our city,” Adams wrote. “Even in his 80s, he continued answering EMT calls, embodying true dedication to saving lives.”
Known as F-71, Yehuda survived the Holocaust as a child, beating the odds to spend countless hours helping others.
Last Chanukah, Adams honored Lindenblatt with a Menorah lighting ceremony.
“His legacy of resilience and service will never be forgotten,” Adams wrote. “May his memory be a blessing.”
The Levaya will take place today, 12:30pm, at Shomrei Hadas Chapel in Boro Park.
