Four Shomrim Divisions Collaborate To Retrieve Stolen Car, Thief Arrested

by CrownHeights.info

Shomrim volunteers from Williamsburg, Flatbush, Crown Heights, and Rockaway-Nassau collaborated Wednesday to recover a stolen car. The thief was caught red handed and arrested.

The incident began Wednesday afternoon when the owner of a Ford Broncho was made aware that his vehicle had been stolen in Boro Park. Calling Shomrim around 3:15pm, he began tracking the vehicle using its onboard GPS system, locating it near Crown Heights.

Williamsburg and Crown Heights Shomrim volunteers went to the GPS location and found the vehicle empty and parked, but with its plates switched to those of another vehicle. Other Shomrim volunteers arrived soon after.

While watching the car, a man suddenly approached the car and got inside, driving off with the volunteers trailing him as 911 was called.

Pulling over in Bed-Stuy, the still-oblivious thief was inside his vehicle when officers from the NYPD’s 81st Precinct descended on him around 4:08pm, blocking the vehicle and removing him from it. After watching a video of the theft provided by Boro Park Shomrim and hearing from the victim, the thief was placed in cuffs and hauled off to the local Precinct.

  • Good Job

Very good work, but he will be out in a day or two unless everyone over 18 registers to vote and votes and also goes to Jury Duty.
    Thank you.
