Rented Minivan Goes Up In Flames In Crown Heights

A minivan rented by a Jewish person in Crown Heights went up in flames Tuesday evening, sending flames billowing tens of feet in the air and belching smoke across the neighborhood.

According to reports, the hybrid electric Toyota Sienna had been rented from Enterprise. The vehicle was on Carroll Street between Kingston Ave and Brooklyn Ave around 7:40 pm when the engine went on fire, sending massive flames billowing into the air.

Firefighters quickly responded and fought the fire using water hoses, putting out the fire and leaving the resulting mess to be dealt with by the NYC Sanitation Department.

Thankfully no injuries were reported in the fire.
