Update: According to reports, the grenades are antique grenades that have had the explosives drilled out and removed. In an abundance of caution, the bomb squad was called to dispose of them.
An ongoing situation is unfolding in Crown Heights after two grenades were found abandoned outside an Eastern Parkway building.
Police were called Tuesday afternoon after the two grenades were found outside 948 Eastern Parkway, a building between Albany Ave and Troy Ave, identified by the police as a mental health facility.
Emergency Services Units were initially called, who ultimately called the NYPD bomb Squad to dispose of the grenades.
