Video of the Day
Tens of dump trucks appeared in Crown Heights Monday prepared to pick up dirt from the construction site on the corner of Troy Ave and Crown Street. The site will soon be the new home of a building built by a Crown Heights Real Estate Developer.

shame it will be a destruction for the shcuna with tiny apartments not suitable for anash.

What do you want? Double applianced kitchen? A balcony for a sukka? Closet space? A table large enough for twelve? Perhaps not appetizing for YOU, maybe for a young married couple or an elderly couple. Build build build!

@kugel
There are many many buildings already in Crown Heights with apartments suitable for young married or elderly couples.
There are almost no buildings in crown heights with apartments for rent for families at all; not to mention the size families the Rebbe asked for.

Should have unzereh families in mind when building/developing

New apartments for newly married are a good thing. A basement is not always an option. Also, developers focus is on dollars. How many apartments can fit on the lot.

@kugel small apts are good, but there isnt one for mid size family, this is the major issue keeping families, teachers etc from staying in CH. if im not mistaking this developer received the property from the CHJCC at a very discounted rate to build for anash. so i hope he does, or he will be in the history bin of all other CH real estate families that robbed the shecuna for their own gain.
A Lubavitcher
Always amazes me how otherwise frum Lubavitchers feel comfortable posting false information while hiding behind names like “Anash.”
1) The building will be comprised of a majority 2 and 3 bedroom units with many having two bathrooms.
2) all will have two sinks and cooking areas.
3) The developer did not buy the property from the CHJCC, it was bought out of bankruptcy court.

There were plans published on this project stating the avrg apt size is 967 sf. Doesn’t matter haw many sinks you put in , that’s not very doable for most anash families.

How do you know what the plans are?

Anash man,
You do know that average size means that some are bigger and some are smaller..
And 967 average for rentals is huge..

Who do we contact regarding this? Will it be rental or condos?
Is it open for applications yet?
What is the (rough) estimate for when it will be ‘ready to move in’?
