Major “All Hands” Fire In Crown Heights Building

Firefighters rushed to a Crown Heights building Tuesday afternoon after reports of a smoke condition turned into an “All Hands” fire.
The fire, which was first reported a little after 1:00pm, is at 556 Crown Street known to hold the Machon Chana School. The fire is on the fourth floor.
Images from the scene show firefighters stretching hoses and raising ladders to the roof of the building.
Update 2:28pm: Further reports indicate that the fire was accidentally ignited in the basement or lower floors before it spread up the walls and made its way to the 2nd floor. Fire operations are still ongoing and no injuries have been reported.
Update 1:52pm: Firefighters are presently battling the fire which is inside the walls of the building, leading to extensive damage despite the lack of obvious flames. No injuries have been reported.
