A Bar Mitzvah At Primo Hatters

When you walk into a hat, Kapota, and shoe store, you don’t expect to find a Bar Mitzvah taking place, but that is exactly what happened.

The two young men strolled into Primo Hatters on Kingston Ave were looking to purchase shoes.

As the two went about their shopping, they were approached by one of the store employees who asked “Did you put on Tefillin today or forget?” The response was that he had never put on Tefillin.

“He said his mother was Jewish but they are not religious,” Primo owner Mendy Sacho told CrownHeights.info.

The employees of the store got straight to work, wrapping him up and giving him a Bar Mitzvah.

“We made a Bar Mitzvah with some singing and dancing that was joined by customers that came into the store,” Sacho said.

The store, which provides hats, shoes, Kapotas, and other men’s clothing, also has a miniature “Chabad House” in the corner, where a pair of tefillin can always be found.
