Video: The Jewish View Interviews Six-Minute Rabbi

On ‘The Jewish View,’ a cable TV talk show, Rabbi Nachman Simon, Chabad Shliach to Delmar, a suburb of Albany, along with co-host Marc Gronich, interviewed Rabbi Hanoch Hecht, Director of Chabad of Dutchess County, who is also known as the Six-Minute Rabbi.

Rabbi Hecht discusses his decade-long presence in the village of Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, and how he is able to bring some Judaism to the area. Some of the ways he accomplishes this is to deliver six minute seminars about the Torah and its interpretations, and teaching a class about kosher cooking at the nearby Culinary Institute of America.

In keeping with his love of food, Hanoch tells why he buries his food and his efforts towards going green. He also recalls the incident of anti-Semitism he experienced in Manhattan seven years ago, and wraps up the episode by reflecting on his family’s legacy and how that inspires him today.
