6 Dead, 15 Injured in Israeli Bus Accident
Six people were killed when an Egged bus, line 402, traveling from Jerusalem to Bnei Brak crashed into a truck parked on the side of Highway 1 on Sunday evening.
The right side of the bus was destroyed in the accident.
An additional 15 people were injured in the accident. Nine of those injured were evacuated to the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, The Assaf Harofeh Medical Center at Tzrifin and to the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot. One was considered to be in critical condition, one in serious condition, three in moderate condition and one was lightly injured.
The six victims’ identities have been cleared for publication: Yaakov Meir Heshin, 27, a Breslev Chosid; Yisrael Weinberg, 26, a Slonim Chosid; Chaya Pasha Frenkel, 23, from Jerusalem; Levy Yitzhak Amdadi, 17, from Yavniel; Aharon Mordechai Cohen, 18, a students of Yeshiva Eitz Chaim Bobov; and Mrs. Leah Malmud, 60, of Jerusalem.
