Filmmaker Meir Kalmenson is back with his latest comedy sketch: Chaim Yisrael is new the newest member of the synagogue and is honored with Hagbah (the lifting of the Torah after its reading). What could possibly go wrong?

    The Torah that was used was not a Kosher Torah and therefore it poses no problems- A little humor never killed anybody!

    1) Even a non kosher torah, you still need to be very careful!
    2)Perhaps write that in the beginning of the video

    It doesn’t matter if the Torah was kosher or not.
    It’s perception, and that’s everything.
    A Sefer Torah and Hagbah is not a joking matter.
    We are not haters. In fact, we like a good laugh just like you.
    Just pick another subject….like commenters on websites.

    Have you checked with a rov about this video? This is highly inappropriate. Even a possul Sefer Torah needs proper respect. There is a fine line between humor and disrespect and this crosses the line. Aside from that, this is a major chilul Lubavitch.

    What went wrong is that a group of people agreed to be part of this, like so many of the ridiculous / shameful videos posted across the web by our fellow Anash and bochrim, without thinking twice if this is a Kiddush shem Lubavitch and The Rebbe or cholilo l’hefech.
