Lost souls! They need a refuah Shleimah! Oy nebach the chicken cry in them?
I love vegetarians - more meat for me.
the nazis yemach shmam were very pro animal rights, but had no problem with HUMAN rights!
The chichen is going to get eaten. It’s not a sacrifice – ps, that’s why we use chickens (not kosher for sacrifices) and not those pesky pigeons (that are kosher for sacrifices) that you can catch for free all over the city. I’m hungry, pass the roast chicken please!

“The chichen is going to get eaten”
Much of the time the chickens are NOT eaten, but left to rot in the street, and the city has to clean up the mess.
It’s simply impossible for one or two individuals to process that many birds for consumption. It’s also impossible to properly schecht that many in rapid succession.
Furthermore, the way the animals are treated – manhandled (as evidenced by the Hasid casually tossing the crate at 0:16), left out in the sun for hours without food and water – violates the principle of tzaar baalei hayim.
Of course, I realize as I type this that:
1. There’s no way on earth or in shamayim this comment will ever make it out of moderation;
2. Even if it does, it won’t matter, because for you people, there is no alternative. You don’t care that the Rambam and Joseph Caro excoriated the practice, and you certainly don’t care that the Modern Orthodox use money instead. For you, it always comes down to this: the Rebbe said to do it, and if it ain’t from the Rebbe, it ain’t Yiddishkeit.
