  • Achdus? You are joking!

And the “security” just stood & watched. Sue them. Sue them all. That’s what THEY do!

  • : - ))

Nothing says achdus quite like one man physically beating another man for wishing to snap a photo of a Rebbe for purposes of his livelihood.

    Goooooooooooo Internet Asifaaaa!!

  • Dumb dumb dumb

Just another dumb thing by dumb people at a dumb event.

All that money they spent to rent the field could have bought laptops for hundreds od students.

  • aussie

a chutzpah that he took a photo of an admor who does NOT want his picture taken. his chassidim are careful about this too. he deserved a klap.

  • sam

once again we prove on ourselves how us lubavitchers have no guts. obvi something was going on that should not be photographed looked like a lot of hatzala there. they were not wrong for pushing him away

  • Levi

    I’m sorry.

I’m a Lubavitcher, and I think it’s totally disrespectful to take pictures of a Rebbe when his Chassidim keep telling you not to!

It’s like going to any celebrity and acting inappropriately, the body guards will get you.

Did the body guards overreact? maybe. But he definitely instigated it.

And crownheights.info, why would you put this up? are there any possible positive ramifications? or maybe you just helped spread more trash talk about frum people.

You should be proud of yourself… Lashon Hara, Rechilus, and Moitze Shem Ra. All in one post! Impressive!!

  • Use care next time

It is well known that the Monsey-Viznitz Rebbe is extremely averse to being photographed. For this reason, even before his health started to fail, he did not make many public appearances. When he heard about this Asifa, he insisted on coming. While the attack cannot be obviously cannot be condoned, next time it would be prudent to make sure photos are allowed, as many Rebbes due to halachic/hashkafic reason do not like pictures taken of them

  • Disbelief

Disgusting!! And the Hatzolah/Shomrim members just stand there… Doing nothing..

  • Well Deserved

It’s clear they didn’t want him photographing their Rebbe, and also clear he didn’t care to respect this, so he got what he deserved. Not everyone puts up with what the Lubavitcher Rebbe did.

  • he was wrong

If you are asked not to take pictures, respect the people and dont take pictures,

dont come to a private event and instigate a fight

  • Respect others

Im sure if someone came to CH 20 years ago and wanted to take pictures of the rebbe and the rebbe said no that guy would be out of CH head first

  • moti

bichlal it is derech eretz to ask before photographing ANYBODY.
This idea that we have to got ake pictures a la papparazzi is GOYISHE

  • Good start

Maybe the photographers should learn a new word: Derech Eretz. If someone doesn’t want their picture taken, don’t. Livelihood is not to be made on the backs of others.

He should be happy he didn’t get worse.

  • LubavitcherChasid

Has it really been that long since people photographed the Rebbe? The Rebbe had official photographers and you didnt just go in and start shooting photos of the REBBE!

Other Rebbe’s do not want photos taken of them.

Respect them and get over your ego maniac selfs that embarasses Lubavitch.

  • NTA

Do not take pic of admur while he is being moved on a wheelchair. That is a tabu, remember that?

  • yossi a cron heights resident

please respect others if told not to and everyone knows not to take of theses people they dont want or allow. please understand that you were wrong.

  • embarassed Crown Heightser

i am a lubavitcher in crown heights and am embarassed by this photographer’s behavior. he did something illegal, immoral, and unethical. if someone did that to my relative or beloved teacher, i would give him a good zetz as well. if he wants be a chevreman paparazzi photogarapher, let him go to hollywood and deal with the six foot bodyguards.

  • Andrea Schonberger

I thought only the Amish were against cameras and photographs.

  • world Class Photographer

number 18, First the Rebbe never had official photographers. On Sunday, private people took pictures and sold them for money. After looking at the video, the mistake the photographer made was taking a picture at close range WITH A FLASH.Totally uncalled for and he should not have done it. Obviously the Admur knew pictures were going to be taken but to take a picture at close range with a flash is not right.

  • Don-t Hit People

Yes it’s very insulting to take a picture of a holy admur in a wheelchair, but hitting people is ASSAULT, and in New York you go to jail for assault, even if your beard is down to your unwashed pupik.

  • Ad Masai!

Major chutzpah of this photographer, he’s lucky that wasn’t the Gerer Rebbe, this Chutzpinyak would’ve been in the hospital.

  • Milhouse

#22, Illegal?! Please enlighten me; how was it illegal? It’s a public place, and there is an absolute right to take pictures in all public places.

  • Essence of Yiddishkeit

Isn’t Yiddishkeit, in a nutshell, “what is hateful to you, do not do unto others…” We would not appreciate anyone disrespecting our Rebbe, so don’t do such to someone else’s.

  • shloime freundlich

just becase when our Rebbe was sick pepole took photos to make a few bucks ,not careing for the Rebbe’s digntiy or honor does not mean we can do it to other Rebbe’s also

  • Eli

Viznitzer Rebbe is famous for his stand against photography.
That photographer had big chuzpa to try to take picture as his chaddidim tell him not to. Total total disrespect!
Name of this article is very misleading!

You should of name it: WHAT A CHUTZPAH!

  • JJ

if the vishnitzer rebbe doesnt want to be photographed then he shouldnt leave the privacy of his own house.
