Video: The Next Level in Mivtzah Chanukah

We all know what it’s like to give someone a mivtzoim menorah and wonder if they’ll really be able to figure out what to do from the directions on the side of the box.

This year, with the help of Chabad.org’s video site www.Jewish.TV, shluchim all over the world made sure that members of their community know the precise ins-and-outs of menorah lighting laws and customs.

From where to place the menorah to what time to light it, this four-minute video — the first in a new series of Jewish.TV Do-It-Yourself videos — shows exactly how to do the mitzvah.

The videos were produced by the Jewish.TV team. Team-member, Shais Taub, commented, “The Do-It-Yourself theme is the next level in mivtzoim, not just to get someone to agree to do a mitzvah, but to allow them to become self-sufficient. The aim is to empower Jews on the most basic level which is practical mitzvah observance.”

Future editions of the new DIY series will include how to take challah, how to put up a mezuzah, how to put on tefillin, and how to light shabbos candles.
