Israeli Filmmakers Bring Tanya to Life
Tanya Video Art is a series of short films, presenting deep concepts from the world of Tanya and Chassidut, in a very friendly and humorous way, reaching out to people who have never studied Tanya before.
The films were made by three young Ba’alei Teshuva: Nadav Cohen, the author of the book Muda’ut Yehudit (Jewish consciousness) – concepts from the Tanya in simple language; Gili Shushan, formerly a well-known actor on Israeli TV, today a Chabad Chassid in Tsfat; and Omri Perri, a film maker who has been concentrating on making Chassidic films ever since he became a Ba’al Teshuva.
The first 2 films were a huge success, shown on websites such as ‘Ynet’ (the largest and most popular news website in Israel) and getting tens of thousands of views, and also broadcast on Israeli TV.
“The feedbacks we received were amazing,” says Gili. “People called from all over the world saying they were so happy to learn Tanya in this way.”
Now we have added English translation so that the American public could also enjoy it.
The filmmakers are saying they are already working on the next film, and promise a big surprise in the next episode.

This clip is misleading and betrays a lack of clarity and understanding of the concepts of Tanya.
a) A neshama is a part of G-dliness not G-d per se.
b) The person is his nefesh habhamis and in him the G-dly neshama was placed.
c) Even for a tzadik the ‘He’ is his nefesh Elokis and in that nefesh Elokis there is a spark of G-dliness.
Faux chassidus
Sounds like youve been studying from one particular teacher/”mashpia” in kan tzivo who teaches his favorite points of kabalah and presents them as chassidus……

double check what you r saying
amazing
WHERE CAN WE FIND THE OTHER FILM ONLINE?
Five is Correct
Five makes an important point.
In his letters, the Rebbe would translate “chelek eloka mimal” as a “part of g-dliness from above.”
For examples, see the letter printed as an intro to the English tanya, or here http://www.chabad.org/therebbe/letters/default_cdo/aid/1865694/jewish/No-Small-Jew.htm.
Indeed, from the context of tanya this is clear, as the Alter Rebbe continues to say that the neshomah comes from CHOCHMAH.
See as well, Igress Hakodesh siman zayin and Mamer Ze HaYom Tchlias Measche 5741, os Daled.
