She translates to deaf people – I am so glad there are more educated people in Chabad (which hopefully will enlighten ignorant people). BTW – there are also deaf people in Chabad and among mekurovim. Let’s keep this in mind for the Chabad House events.

Common Sense
To #4:
Please tell me that your question is not a serious one. If you have never met a deaf person, or have never heard of sign language, then the time has come for you to emerge from your question mark filled existence and get an education, much like the fine boy in this video.

wow nussen that’s amazing.

One caveat: Michael Kirby is not an honourable man. He is a radical leftist who worked hard to pervert the law during his time on the bench.
Family Friend

Mazal Tov on your graduation.
The speech was a great Kiddush Hashem and Lubavitch (besides that there could have been a polite disclaimer with regard to the great respect directed to Michael Kirby…). I note the mentioning of the Smicha degree…As you mention you should continue to go maychayil el choyil!
nice
good job. positive feedback. next time try to include we in your speech as you are representing your classmates as well. good luck!

Mazal Tov Nussen! such a wonderful speech, may you go from strength to strength.

“we know that the Rebbe is shepping big time nachus” – which Rebbe do you mean? Surely not the Lubavitcher Rebbe who was AGAINST secular education in general and specifically against college – he certainly would not be shepping big time nachus from such a “milestone”. Maybe you mean another Rebbe – there are many chassidic/litvish rebbes. Please answer.

TO NUMBER 31: BE QUIET AND KEEP YOUR NEGATIVE COMMENTS TO YOURSELF !!! THE LUBAVITCHER REBBE IS SHEPPING NACHAS!!!

thanks for the laugh!
to Nossen, mazal tov! Great speech, and yes everyone is shepping nachas.
a lubavitcher
while all of us in the family of lubavitch are proud of nosson for his achievements and speach, it is important to be honest.
this so called positive comenting is just being dishonest.
although the rebbe did allow in exceptional cases for some to attend college, the rebbe’s preffered option was that children have no secular education (‘ignorant’ of some things in the language of soem of those commenting here) and definitely against college.
I am sure nosson consulted with his mashpi’im who advised him his situation is an exception but I would not be so sure the rebbe has nachas from so many who who attend college these days.
so it is definitely correct to question whether the rebbe would have nachas from a valedictorian in a university. it goes against a very big part of what the rebbe worked hard to teach us chasidim.
Truth
To #32 – I guess you can’t handle the truth that #31 wrote, which is why you tell him/her to shut up and keep negative comments to self. Guess what, keeping quiet does not alter reality. The truth must be said – loud and clear: Maybe some other rebbe is shepping big time nachas but the Lubavitcher Rebbe gets his nachas from other venues.
Milhouse
There is a difference between a bochur going to a real college with campus life, etc., and a married man going to a technical college that focuses exclusively on classes.
Milhouse
Remember that the Rebbe himself didn’t go to college until after he was married. (And after he “filled his stomach with bread and meat” as the Rambam puts it; so merely being married is not really enough. But at least being married is one tzad that applies here.)
good on you nussen!!!!
Nussen this is seriously inspiring! kol hakavod!! and for all those who are negative go focus on your children who do nothing with their lives to make the rebbe proud. or those who went to college, barely made it through and did NOT mention the rebbe in their graduating speeches :P
We need more like this fine young man in our circles. Accomplished in smicha and law with an amazing family and wonderful hashkafos!
Alby
Ignore the hate comments he is married and now studies law. Maybe he asked a mashpia which is the right thing to do in this situation. You hating fools jump to conclutions sometimes. Great job on the kid dish hashem
