Road Trippin Rabbis – Berkley & San Francisco

Portland is the city with the slogan “Keep Portland weird”. Berkeley doesn’t need a slogan.

You would be pretty hard pressed to find anyone who isn’t making a statement or making a statement by not making a statement etc. So naturally a couple of guys with beards and yarmulkas walking down the street, making inquiry as to strangers religion, is not so out of the not-so-norm. People keep asking us if we are band.

We stayed by the home of our very own Road Tripping Rabbi Chiam Ferris. Chaim’s father, Rabbi Yehuda Ferrs is shliach to the Bay Area and as visitors we were invited warmly by his congregation. Also there in Berkeley on kashrus buisness was Road Tripping Rabbis supporter and founder ChabadLife.tv Reuven Flamer. We all sat down for a farbrangen shabbos afternoon.

While in Berkeley we did mivtzoyim at the university Berkeley and other local spots where the people gather.

San Francisco was all day the next day at Pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf.

Stay tuned for the last leg of our journey, LA!
