    Sperlin says..

“I helped a lot al uh a lot uh mosdos here in the shchuna”…

…“Ask the nimahel of the moisdos what i done for them? if I did anything?”

Well a quick call to the menahelim confirmed that NO! he didnt do anything, but they did have a good report. like “he means well” another, “He has connections..”

  • NOT SO GLATT

People in law enforcement and psychology are trained how to spot people who are not telling the truth – the first thing that they are told to look for is if the speaker is constantly touching their own face (that is the first sign that they are not a truthful person) Watch these various videos of the candidates and connect the dots !! WE NEED HONESTY MORE THAN EVER – for our community’s reputation and as an example for our kids .

  • What about the women?

It would have been nice to see some female candidates. Oh, now I remember, our “democratic process” doesn’t allow women to vote or run as candidates!?

  • Itouch

Please post your videos in a way that a itouch could see them. Ituch rocks

    Poltrack says

“Competition for the election I am not worried about, the competition for best hat…”

    No one laughed…
    “Very easily derailed”

Is someone looking to derail it?
“What change are we looking for..
..Go back to the bad old days”

Oh is that our only choice, you or.. the bad old days

  • Duby L.

I’m wondering if I’m the only female that’s a little taken aback that women are NOT allowed to vote??? Surely there are women in the community that would like to voice their opinion through voting ????

  • choose carefully

I want to reply to Not So Glatt
I heard the same thing from a well known psychologist
body language speaks louder than words
yes you can look it up online
this is one of the ways to spot insincerity if the person is constantly touching his face

  • Wondering

    M. Schreiber “used to help many people”. Now he claims to be penniless. If he was unable to manage his own money, how will be able to manage community funds? If he does have money, why does he owe millions of dollars to people who invested with him in good faith and he has not repaid his debts?

  • me myself and i

    “Accomplishments”

Poltrack – “We gave out $180.000.00 for camp scholarships”

Fishel Brownstein“ – ”We gave out 150-180,000.00 in scholarship funds.

Isnt he a accountant? is it 150 or 180,000.00 and is this fund for scholarships in all camps or 1 camp.

    “partner and give out foodstuffs”

“We hired a professional executive director..”

    ha ha ha haaaa!

So what are the accomplishments that you did differently then anyone else who would have been in your place?

    Oh the Psak Din…

one sec, that wasnt your initiative, it was Rabbi Glukowsky, who before you got elected said by a Shavues Farbrengen he will do all in his power to bring Sholom… and He started by calling Rabinim, Not the Vaad…

So really what is it you guys did MORE them anyone else, that I should go and vote for you verses anyone else.

  • i am embarassed for my community

Mr Meir Schreiber mentioned with pride about the camp he owns and is involved in
this camp is surrounded on all sides by shady business
and is an inappropriate and unsafe place for children
yet he seems proud of this accomplishment

  • hey

hey so many funny people saying funny things

a lot of dudes here had to do stealing mosdos
    whats going on?

  • me again

no way chaninah helped someone that asked him i want someone to help without asking

about the rabbonim we need like how it was when reb zalman shimoen was around no its all a joke if you ask around at least 30 percent say clearly after all the fighting there is no respect even if they work together now

  • you again

I’m a bachur living here 25 years and i cant vote why!!!
why do these people run my whole life is affected
by them i want a new way of voting maybe i should
    take it to court

  • mendel yank..

i gave tzedakah towards food stuff
wow you did the same such lunatics
ranting how they saved the world
we need someone like the really
old vad sorry i cant mention their
names who shaped this community until
you wackos kicked them out look at our
last 25 years how our community stinks

  • another fishel

    to fishel
you started nothing you were part of a fight we want a vaad with no such fights involved
stop mentioning so much similar to last year where are you
from you dont remember last year do you someone to remind you

  • yossel chaim

hello to yossi keller our streets are filthy did you ever see
all the rubbish on the floor on kingston why dont we get more
    cleaners here

  • 770 live

Poltrak I saw you clearly inciting a riot how dare you lie

You made no good in your change why don’t you stick to your
Own problems maybe start Davening on time a beis din definitely
    Will help you with that

Okay so you got money for camp maybe we should close down camps altogether as we need a better chinuch I know 24 hours in camp is amazing however I can tell you first hand we are destroying the staff of their chassidishkeit that they learn through out the year and the campers too are being robbed

I can say that some communities like California, Toronto, and Chicago were there is only one month off in cheder is the only way to go

  • Its about time

Maybe the new guys are the answer.

It seems everyone has an agenda besides them!

All they want is a united community. They may not have the xperience everyone is bashing them about – but look at the “experience” the rest have, but they want the right things.

Its about time to take a chance, or do we like it so much the way it is….

  • Please vote for peace!

Wow, I’m praying for Tamir and Vogel to get in. Sincere, honest, wise, planned, perseverant… at least thats what I’m picking up from these videos and the site.

  • cheated & abused

I thought it was a chutzpah that some of the candidates for Gabboim i.e.Niasoff Spielman used their opportunity at the podium which was meant to explain their candidacy fo gabbous and instead used it to either indorse certain candidates or bash the ones thewy don’t like. I don’t know why they were allowed to use this public forum for their personal opinions. Some Moderator! That’s why we need change so that private minority interest will not be served at the expense of the community.

  • Leibish

I know who I’m not voting for:
Michoel Chazan who last year came out with a public letter against Rabbi Osdoba, whom he claims to be his Rav whom he used for Siddur Kidushin for his child’s wedding.
Michoel Chazan who was elected twice to vaad hakohol and by his own admission couldn’t manage to accomplish anything, let alone his inability to pay the Rabbonim. michel chazan under whose leadership the entire Machlokes started and destroyed the community.
Michoel Chazan who for no good reason found nothing better to do by the q&a period of the meeting than to viciously attack rabbi shea hecht publicly just to score a few points by Poltorak and hendel. Does he think that this election is about starting new fights with the Hechts or others in Crown heights?
Still waiting for your very public letter of mechila from rabbi osdoba and Rabbi shea.

Yossi keller who actually gave a great speech but he seems to fail to understand that if you publicly go against a Rav of the community by running as a candidate in an election that he disapproved, doesn’t qualify you as a respectful peace maker.
Sorry, I never heard your public Mechila from rabbi osdoba either.

  • im gona run for gabbai

Not to win. Just to get 5 min to endorse, curse out, and scream at who ever and how ever I want.
Niasof, what a waste of oppertunity. Your job is to keep 770 clean. Does that give you any credibility or following.

  • dare to compare part 1

    Shea verses chanina.

Government connections. Let’s see hmm what did chanina do with all his conections? How much money, came into CH bc of it and how many things were “moved” and done with them.

Shea and ncfje have gotten thousands of dollars which ther moised used for his organization which gives all and more social services that the counsel gives. Call 718 735 0200 and ask them for a list.
“We partnered, and gave out food for pesach”

Ncfje did that for how many years without any “partnering”

Chaninas government conections can’t even close eastern parkway

Shea gets nothing more for ncfje by representing the community the comunity gets more. Ncfje has what it needs.

  • dare to compare part 2

    Zaki tamir verses eli poltrak

    Attorneys at law.

Zaki backed down last elections bc he listened to a Ravs psak.

This is why zaki needs to get voted in bc HE the one who listened to the rabonim and he will continue listening to the rabonim.

    Poltrak
Didn’t listen to osdiba at that time. And his statement made “the rabonim now have made it clear that we were ok to run” has only come in resent months. At that time he went against the rabonim.

Then poltrak the hipocrit used court to forse a besdin making a messira for the rubashkin camp and others.

Only to have this kick him in his face when he lied to the judge.. (Info soon to be officially relesed) making him need to listen to the rov who made the bes din happen rabbi glukowsky.
Then the poltrak used his legal expertiese to assist bocherim to build a case against the “shomrim6” to try and put them in jail only for them to be found Not guilty.

Zaki on the other hand has used his legal experties to get yidden OUT of jail at times for no cost.

The final verdict of a FEDERAL JUDGE about camp Machne Menachem is available to read online – the judge took away the camp away from Schrieber & Shpritzer because they did so many ILLEGAL things !

I have to say listing to this i started to laugh I thought I was watching a Saturday-night live skit it was funny, I just want to thank you for the laughs.

  • philosopher

    analisys:
Shpeilman – made the first family wars in crown heights, spent millions of community funds and in the end accomplished nothing, Fisher is now stronger, welthier, and honored more then ever.
Chanina – a living example of a chassidisher yid, BE A MOISER at every oppertunity, and announce that what I do is CHESED for the community- Was MOISER the hershkops numurus times,Rubashkin, the Rabonai Hashchuna the Gemachim, All in the name of Chesed for the community. His yiras shamayim stands out in many other ways. For example Davens loud to disturbe everyone around him, to point out how bad his teachers in Ohelai Torah were, wants to demonstrate that he Can not read properly and does not understand what he says
Poltrack – a loser from the go, has all the qualities of his mentor Chanina plus the yiras shamayim to demonstrate that he davens and puts on tifillin every day, YOU CAN ACTUALLY FIND HIM IN OF ALL PLACES IN 770, USUEALLY AFTER 5:00 PM DAVINING SHACHRIS. Wow waht a g-d fearing jew. He beats Chanina!!!

  • Hamayseh Hu Haikar

For women that want to vote, stop talking and start doing. Challenge it, you will win the right on constitutional grounds.

  • Fresh blood

    We need people who :
    Are movers and shakers
Can represent our community in a professional manner
    Respect us
    Care
We need to think about are community, not about who are friend is, or if our daughter married his chavrusa’s neighbor. Who is going to meet our needs?

I see some very appealing candidates, like Tamir for example.
Are we going to go for status quo or can we make our shchuna a better place for our children.

  • Working together

Zaki Tamir gave the most eloquent speech I’ve ever heard at these functions.

  • dare to compare part 3

    Mochkin verses Keller.

    they are the same

both had a lot of passion

    both had a great idea

but both have NO IDEA HOW TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • dare to compare part 4

    Cadaner verses CPA Brownstein

    Both are the same

They have no idea what they did, or what they want to do in the Vaad, and all questions regarding to what they plan on doing with regards to housing, or what Kedaner did this past year for Education (outside his own moisdos) remain unanswered

  • Shomrim Case Transcript

Shomrim Case Transcript 11-2-09 ADA Weiss [Prosecutor] Opening (About Shuki Gur the translator)

Elie Poltorak has an obvious bias against Shomrim and did everything he can to make sure they get locked up, this we all saw at the meeting.

He might change course in defense of himself and say…“I just went down to help translate.”

The following is part of page 6 (lines 8-17) of the ADA opening statements.

    ADA DAVID WEISS…
“Again, just like in any other school, in any other dormitory, in 749 there was a boy named Jonathan Gur, who he is known as Shuki. And Shuki is what we would call a resident adviser. He is one of the older members of the yeshiva, he has been there for awhile, and he speaks English. And he will tell you other boys looked up to him as this unofficial R.A. because most of them were not from America, they did not understand the language and he helped guide them along while they lived here.”

This Shuki Gur later testifies that he was at the hospital with his friends the so called “victims”, as far as translation was concerned, it was covered.

So we ask again, what was Elie Poltorak doing at Kings County Hospital the night of December 29, 2007 with Paul Huebner?

  • A sign of the future

Some of the candidates took this opportunity to describe what they plan on doing for the community. Other candidates, in contrast, use this forum as a means of pointing out how others are malicious and unqualified.

One may conclude that these candidates will run the community in the same manner: the accomplishment of those who seem to be always pointing out the negative of their fellow will be to continue doing so throughout the term. That’s what they will accomplish. But those that spoke to the point and addressed real issues, will address those issues in their term.

  • From one woman to all women

You want to change the minds of many, but how about starting with just one? First get your husbands to be on the same page as you and then make sure they go and vote!!!

  • lie to me

“bodily cues are the most reliable of all nonverbal signals of deception to help you read body language. This is because a person generally has less conscious control over these than other signals. (Springer, 1996; Ekman & Friesen, 1974). Hand-to-face gestures and shrugs are strong markers of deception.”

in 5:35 minutes meir schreiber touched his face 30 times (yes i counted)
    i wonder what he’s hiding
there have been some references here
hasn’t the community suffered enough indignity to risk having this person represent us
tim roth would have a field day
    v’ha mayvin yavin

  • disbelief

Mr Shreiber is known for his erratic behavior

  • About Apple

    To #5

You can forget about seeing flash video on any Apple Itouch, Iphone or Ipad, because Apple decided not to allow flash to run on their devices. Apple is a company that likes to “control”. They like to bully other companies, and control their customers. Apple is trying to make the whole internet stop using flash. Apple made the e-reader books go up in price, forcing Amazon to pay more and charge more for their books.

But most of all, Apple likes to control YOU. They decide what YOU can or cannot put on your Itouch. Enjoy.

he looks innocent but looks are deceiving
I assume and hope he will not get more than one vote
    his own
how does someone diagnosed with a serious mental illness
be allowef to have free rein to run in a community election
I guess its a free coumtry
Hashem will surely reveal the truth of this man’s motives

  • Emmeline Pankhurst

1.Could you believe that women themselves voted not to vote?????
2.There are so many single mothers and older girls that should have a say. They have no representation. People don’t think about them. They are the priority.
    3. You don’t have to be in the Vaad Hakol to help people. Rabbi Shea Hecht never stops helping people day and night. Whether you know about it or not. If you are an involved person you will know this information.
4.If Rabbi J.J. Hecht A”H asked the Rebbe that Schrieber to run Machon Chana WHY IS S.L.???????running it??????

  • IMPORTANT - READ AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF

Here are DIRECT QUOTES from the federal judge’s decision when the judge took ownership of the camp ( Machne Menachem ) AWAY from Shrieber and Shpitzer because of ILLEGAL financial monkey business ( don’t forget – they were in secular court because Shrieber & Shpritzer opened up a case there ) “ IT IS BEYOND DISPUTE THAT THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE N-PCL (the laws that govern non-profit organizations) WERE ENTIRELY IGNORED AND THAT THE BUSINESS OF THE CORPORATION WAS CONDUCTED BY SPRITZER AND SCHREIBER, FROM AND AFTER 1996, AS THEY IN THEIR SOLE DISCRETION SAW FIT. THAT FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE REQUIREMENTS OF A BODY OF STATUTES SPECIFICALLY ENACTED TO GOVERN THE CONDUCT OF AFFAIRS OF A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION MAY CAST A DOUBT OVER THE VALIDITY & HENCE THE ENFORCEABILITY OF ITS CONTRACTS, ITS MORTGAGES, OR THE LEGITIMACY OF LEGAL PROCEEDINGS IT MAY HAVE INITIATED. ”
Crown Heights does NOT need a lawyer who actually breaks the laws concerning non-profits representing the Vaad and Crown Heights non-profit organizations – THIS COMMUNITY DESPARATELY NEEDS GOVERNMENT FUNDING – WE NEED TO OBEY THE LAWS – NO MORE SCANDALS

  • Let-s get it done!

I just finished listening to four of the candidates – I have yet to listen to the rest. I cannot believe the community actually allowed and survived Sperlin as representative?!?!?! The man can’t put a sentence together. He pats himself on the back for doing so much for moisdos… Haven’t we all heard of the “mirrer” Yeshiva.. Mir means me.. he has his pockets lined and I think that is what he is referring to. He has obtained many buildings in this community from the past mayor and from this one too. Have any of you ever wondered how he has come to own all these buildings? Wow, surprise surprise.. no one ever thought about that …
The guy is an embarrassment – I cringed while listening to him. Please folks get him out – anything is better than that. Even Foreest Gump!!!
Remember you send a fool to represent you and you are treated as fools.
We had enough of that brand – for fear of using the “change” word… yes it’s time for change.

  • to millhouse #50

you ask what difference does it make if a potential vaad member breaks the law as long as he keeps to halacha – first of all, we do not live in the shtetel anymore and we have a moral / legal responsibility to keep dina d’malchusa dina. but much more importantly, bigamy is not only a felony in new york ( grounds for disbarment) but is considered very shocking, grubbe, and anti-social behavior in the secular/political world. our vaad interacts with people OUTSIDE of the shtetel – we need to be able to show the government agencies and wealthy people that we are dependent on for FUNDING that we are clean people who run a clean organization – please check out post # 49 on this site on the previous article about the vaad meeting ( the one with the videos) and you will understand why we must be aware of certain candidates’ consistent ILLEGAL behavior and how it could impact the success of the vaad. we must show the world, both frum and secular, that Lubavitch obeys the law and maintains high standards – THIS IS THE REBBE’S HOME !!!

  • Aaron

Everyone who is unhappy should unite. Bochurim, all women single or not. How will you ever have a voice if you don’t ever speak up? Your lives don’t have to be meaningless; you need not feel as if you are a second class member of the community. STOP THE BIGOTRY NOW!!!

  • A shocked and disappointed bubby

If each and every candidate were properly vetted according to guidelines such as honesty, integrity, humility, legality, motives, etc. we could discuss the issues here instead of the character traits of those running. Whoever wins, if they are to represent our special community, it seems obvious and fundamental that they should be impeccably above reproach.Instead, several of these candidates frighten us or anger us and probably for good reasons. Give us more credit! Give us a real choice of mentchen! Why are these allowed to be in the limelight? Shouldn’t they be spending their time clearing their names instead and making retribution to those they have wronged! Why are we put in a position of perhaps electing one of these very flawed individuals my mistake or out of ignorance?…Why don’t some of these contenders have any shame? Why do they want to be in the public eye like this? Especially if they have engaged in criminal activities. We are left to guess if they suffer from hubrus/pride/ego or perhaps have private financial or other motives worth taking this risk of exposure…Very interesting forum. Thank you for printing my comments. BTW Before Moshiach arrives all the shmutz has to come out.Are we doing our job yet?

  • Just my opinion

On the candidates, I would like some new, idealistic blood infused into the community council. I have spoken to some of them and they have some good ideas. I cannot believe some of the comments here about some of the older candidates, though. Surely at least some of them have sincerely tried to better our community! On the comments, 1st: improve your grammar you people! 2nd: I think another way for women to have a say in communal affairs BESIDES voting and running for office should be found. Sorry ladies, but the Kennedy & Obama elections were greatly influenced by how nice the candidate looked, dressed, etc.
