Many issues faced the community with the heavily disputed Vaad elections, to name one was the obvious issue, should I go and vote, and outright disobey Rabbi Osdoba? What will happen after the elections? How will you retake the offices? These were among a number of other questions that were raised at a ‘meet the candidates’ meeting in Beis Chaya Mushka.

    Dear zacki tamir,

I remember you as one of the people who listened to Rabbi Osdiba and stepped down from the last “election”

    Zacki,
This reflects on your character and due to this I respect you and will vote for you.

While many have read that the last “elections” were OK according to the Rabonim. Let’s remember this is something we found out very recently and therefore all those who continued to run regardless of rabbi Osdibas wishes. Have it reflect on their character.

And NO I will not vote for any of them

    Hi

  • lol

who needs entertanement on itunes when you have videos of ch politics!

  • advertise to EVERYONE

IN response to the last video – there may be alot going on in the community in the last 2 years. But the reason very few ppl attend is because they don’t advertise it. They just spread the word amongst the gezhe, who already think they know everything.
Maybe if we “unconnected nobody”s would be notified about these important classes, you’d have a greater attendance.

Wow! Zaki Yitchok Bachar Tamir is straight up the real Mccoy! I already see it, he is “VA’AD HAKOHOL”…
It’s too obvious! He is what our community needed so desperately…He just gets it…
I am daveneing for you Zaki keep it up!!

  • Respect Honesty and Integrety

To zalman janowsky. I second that statement.

Someone who can go against Rabbi Osdiba especially during a difficult time shows lack of respect and poor judgement.

When everything is nice and dandy its easy to respect the Rabonim, during tough dessiosions is when you must listen to them bc that is what they are their for.

  • Impressed

I’m really impressed with Zaki Tamir! He seems to be quite a wise young guy. Watch his people skills, understanding, and sincere desire to help his fellow people. If all people were able to think as clearly as him, maybe we wouldn’t have this whole problem to begin with!

I’m so sorry I missed the meeting. It seems like a positive step for the community. I wanted to find out which one is going to deal with the affordable housing crisis in Crown Heights. IM”H they will get it sorted out soon.

  • Orthodox Jew

    Orthodox Jews
    i’m not voting for
    fishel brownstein
    zev cadaner
    chanina sperlin
    eli poltorak
these 4 claim that they had one goal and that is to make peace and to bring to a din tora. they accomplished it by entering a vicious mesira against Rabbi Osdoba & his 3 sons and against Rabbis Segal, Zirkind & Raitport that they stole money from the government. are you saying that the end justifies the means?

if you must be an orthodox jew to run for vaad does mesira qualify you as orthodox? and i ask did you get a heter from any rav that you are allowed to make this mesira? the other side have a written letter from Rabbi osdoba that they may go to court to get a TRO against your election, even if you say that he was wrong, at least they asked a Rav and followed his ruling, which is the halachic way for orthodox jews to do things. which rav gave you permission to make the mesira? please produce a copy of his heter or give us his name so we can ask him why he allowed such a mesira against the Osdoba brothers and rabbis Segal, Zirkind & Raitport. maybe you had a heter so i’ll change my mind.

and the excuse that you just responded to the other side which started with court, number one halachicaly it doesn’t fly, because in shulchan aruch it says (look it up) that if someone is taken to court based on permission of a Rav he may not defend himself in court. number two, they went for a TRO against an election and you responded by entering an outright mesira that they steal money from the government (an outrageous lie) which could send these people to jail. how do you justiy this?

And even now 6 months after the din tora & 7 weeks after the psak the mesira is still in court. so how will you deal with rabbi osdoba or rabbi segal if you are reelected and they don’t play according to your rules? will you masser on them once again? because you are holier than thou and you are always right? and then you’ll blame it on the Rabbis?

  • cb

The problem with the current illegal vaad is not that they continued the election against Rabbi Osdoba, however even after the psak of the recent din torah they have not fulfilled the psaak by giving Rabbi Segal a key to the office and also not paying him his salary.
What makes you thinkthat they will listen to Rabbonim tomorrow if they are not listening today!!~

Chanina Sperlin likes to tell us that he has the best connections and thanks to him Crown Heights is better off than without him.

I do know that its true, because thanks to him Eli Slavin has a puffy job by our congresswoman Clarke. Good for him, he gets a lot of pictures and they get a lot of publicity, and we all feel good about it.

However, I question what good are these connections when it comes to the real important stuff?

On 3 occasions over the last year the Crown Heights representative to Washington Ms. Yvete Clarke who has Eli Slavin on her payroll as the Jewish liaison (with Chanina Sperlin right there for the good of the Jews) voted against Israel and the Jews! What’s the use of having connections that are only used to get a good job for a friend but are worthless when it comes to Jews and Israel?

The chilul hashem that was caused when Crown Heights congresswoman Clarke voted to support the Goldstone report was indescribable, it was a shande to be a Lubavitcher whose Rebbe fought so much to protect Israel and here his own congresswoman votes to undermine Israel even though Chanina is her best friend and Eli Slavin is her Jewish advisor. Jews worldwide were flabbergasted at this vicious anti-semitic vote. What’s the point of having connections if it is worth nothing when it comes to protecting Jews? Is a job more important than Jewish lives?

There is no question in my mind that anybody else who had any connection with Clarke would use his influence with her much better than Chanina.

Then we go to Chaninas abuse of his connections with the Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes. Chanina used his connections to force the DA to prosecute the Shomrim 6 on a bogus case just so that Chanina can get back at his political rivals.

This is unbelievable, 6 bochrim & yungerleit with large families were threatened with many years in jail because of Chanina’s pressure on the DA to prosecute them (lets not excuse Eli Poltorak who also used his legal expertise to help guide false witnesses in this prosecution). The miracle was that even the jury saw through the lies and ultimately they went free (from jail, but a civil trial suing them for 140 million dollars is still going on). I may also add that there is a very serious investigation against the DA’s office for spending millions of dollars to prosecute this bogus blood libel against the Shomrim 6.

Is this what Chanina uses his connections for? To persecute & prosecute fellow Jews who disagree with his politics? As a descendant of Chasidim who were killed by Stalin but never opened their mouth to rat on other jews just to save their lives and that they remain alive, I can’t accept any defense for such behavior.

Chanina you abused your connections and besides a job for Eli Slavin, I fail to see the value of your connections.

  • Simcha

Issues do not matter to Chanina and Eli. Only photo ops and power matter. Power will result in millions of dollars from Washington to rebuild 770, the decrepit streets, the shabby sidewalks, the slumlike buildings and the clean up the trash and smells we live with.

What is the criteria for the candidates who desire to be placed on the list for the election of the third Rov for the CHBD.
Which body is responsible for the above, who determines the salary package for the 3 Rabbonim, from where is the money drawn.
Are member of the community able to access the financials of the CHJCC.
If 770 is the Rebbe’s Shul, can we expect that people who may not feel comfortable with the Yechi approach will be given a voice after the election for the Gabboim.
