So Agudah actually had the fortitude to invite the esteem lawyer and chabad didnt. Again I ask, after everything the Rubashkins have done for chabad shluchim, why havent the shluchim rallied around the cause and use thier political connections untill now?

Thank you Crown Heights.Info for this video.

So, whilst some in the Chabad community write op-eds about their angst of the Rubashkin debacle, and finally concede, my oh, my, that he was punished enough…

While there is silence in the Lubavitch leadership about the horrific discrimination and overzealous persecution of Sholom Rubashkin…

While Chabad.org stays silent on the Rubashkin issue while they wax poetic about every other non-sense on earth….

The Yated – litvishe newspaper speaks out vociferously in defense of Rubashkin, as does Hamodia, and even Mishpacha…

Aish.com, not Chabad.org features the Mendy Pellin video on the lack of parity in Rubashkins sentencing…

Agudath Israel features Guy Cook as their speaker, and makes the Rubashkin case one of the key issues of their convention…

Yet, silence from the big guns in Lubavitch…

So, while I am heartened at the amazing achdus coming from all segments of the Jewish world, at the true Ahavas Yisrael shown by Agudah and the Yated, I am so embarrassed and disappointed by the Chabad leadership. Not the people, who have opened up their hearts and pockets to help this man, but the leadership who, usually so articulate and outspoken and PR savvy cannot even manage a stutter in Sholom Rubashkin’s defense.

The most powerful Jewish organization in the world remains silent while their own brothers blood is being spilt, while Young Israel, Agudah, Satmar, Aish, all come out in to protest the abuse of process and lack of justice in the case of Sholom M. Rubashkin.

    Just sign me:

Chabad.org was actually asked about why they don’t openly support the case and they replied that they were told that their open support cand do more harm than good. They are doing much behind the scenes.

  • Silence is acquiescence

    To supporter,

Good excuse, but not good enough.

The same argument could of been made by Yated, Agudah, Young Israel, Satmar and Aish.

They could have made the same argument, but they didn’t.

At the end of the day, silence is interpreted as acquiescence.

Why is the mesira against Keren Israel Leib and others still in court. Maybe there is a connection. What are they waiting for?

  • mother in ch

It makes sense for Chabad to support one of our own. What makes a difference is when non-chabadniks, esp people who are anti-chabad or not even Jewish stand up for a Chabadnik. The outside world won’t listen to anything we say as it sees us as prejudiced, but they might to outsiders. I am sure that plenty of shluchim are using their connections BEHIND THE SCENES to help.

  • gibberish

Let’s focus on should we say yechi or not a the damn parade…
Let’s focus on which Rabbi we want….

  • Mayor Koch said it best

    To Mother in Crown Heights,

True enough. But if your OWN people dont openly support you, that sends a wrong message, no matter the intention.

And to quote Mayor Koch, (who was outraged by the lack of criticism by Jewish politicians against the Obama administration’s slanted bias against Israel, was told: they say they are doing alot behind the scenes…)

To which the Mayor replied: that seems to be what everyone is saying; It must be awfully crowded behind the scenes…
