This footage has been turned over to the police in hopes of them catching the two thugs that committed this disturbing crime.
hmm

Did the cops dust for the fingerprints they left on the DOOR?
good locks
why in heavens name are the doors (both) unlocked????
the owner spends all sorts of money a video system but not on good locks!!! still scratching my head wondering about this.
maybe someone can shed some light (lighting seems OK).
Door is OPEN!!!
Anyone notice how it doesn’t show how the second Schvartze got in? The door CLOSED behind the first Schvartze, so how did the second one get in?
Well, it’s quite simple actually, the door DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK!!! So the second thug just walked right in.
Fischer probably does not want anyone to see that, so they cut it out of the video!
By the way, this door has been left unlocked with complete Hefkerus the last few months. Anyone and everyone could just walk right in.

mendy
The doors are locked the whole week, but the tenants keep it open for Shabbat.
Everyone should make a Shabbat key and the doors should be locked at all times!
What would the Berdichover say?
In the previous article regarding this incident there were a number of comments blasting the landlord for not having surveilance cameras, when in fact there were. Now we hear comments that the landlord is at fault for not having proper front door locks when in fact (at least according to the previous comment from Mendy) the tenants leave the doors unlocked for easy access Shabos.
The point is, any Yid deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt, especially when all the facts aren’t in! The hayliker Berdichover (the Alter Rebbe’s mechutin) was moser nefesh to be m’lamed zechus on a Yid! We at least should not jump to conclusions and condemn a Yid b’rabim. Such a comment on a website is for all practical purposes b’rabim…
Yehuda, albany ave
The comments bring to mind what Rabbi Meir Kahane said about a “psak” that allowed people to carry money in Manhattan in case they get mugged and will be able to give the scumbag money to save themselves pure pikuach nefesh,no? Asked Rabbi Kahane: “wHY NOT PASKEN THAT THEY CAN CARRY GUNS and give the mugger something to remember”
It’s time we showed the muggers that they can get hurt bad if they try and mug us!!
P.s I carry a legal weapon and can’t wait for the day that a mugger “chooses” to mess! It will be the last time he messes with anybody!!
Mendel a Tenant who Pays rent MR FISCHER
maybe if there where cameras visible on every floor and in the elevator the building would be safe.
Dear Mr. Fischer, I am a tenant of another building and I have brought this idea up two years ago in a meeting with the some of tenants in our building. since then only two video cameras were installed in the lobby!!! why wait for the mistake that Mr. Sperlin had to, in which he learned the hard way to install cameras in every crevice of his buildings. that is the ONLY deterrent. By the way from the number of incidents in your buildings perhaps you already should have learned the hard way. A small (or maybe large) investment will make all your tenant feel safe. It also may fall under the Mitzvah of “v’asisa ma’aka l’gaggecha”, of which if you fulfill you have a added bracha of parnassah
to all those that think locks actually work, i challenge you not to let anyone in your building every time you go in and out of your building. see how many friends you will acquire. tenants that have to dig for their keys will get annoyed at you etc. In addition, I challenge you to make sure you clearly hear who is coming via your intercom before you let them in.
Resident
its not a big deal for anyone to get in. you just wait for someone with a key to enter and you walk in behind them. nobody is going to tell a black person you can not come in. he will say he lives there!!
josh
what is the use of the cameras?? we never get a clear pictute of the face, this is the same of all videos
david
not having video cameras that is on every floor and in elevators all over jewish buildings in Crown Heights may be under the violation of לא תעמוד על דם רעך
Always Something
Does anyone know what happened last night in the same building, 742 Montgomery St. There were many police cars outside the building on Sunday night and police all over the hallways of the building. Surprised CHinfo didn’t post what’s going on????
ari
if you get good cameras details can be seen. as you can tell in the footage that as soon as he saw the camera he pulled his hood. obliviously the cameras scare them
To all Fisher tenants:
We need to get together and demand that they put up cameras in all their buildings, in noticable places to deter. they should also get good locks like in sperlin’s buildings, even if it dosent keep people out all the time, it deffinitly is better than not having at all. Keep the shechuna safe, and be vigilant. I dont think Fisher wants a law suit coming his way.
