CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — JEM is pleased to announce the release of a much-anticipated new DVD, The Blessing of the Sun, about Birchas Hachama – the special once in 28 years Mitzva which is upcoming shortly.

The new 90-minute disc includes:

1. A seven-minute feature video on the significance of the sun in Jewish observance and history, and an explanation of the Mitzvah of Birchas Hachama.

2. The full 55-minute Birchas Hachama event with the Rebbe in 5741 – 1981, including the prayers, the full-length address, Nigunnim and Pesukim, accompanied by introductions and translation in English, Hebrew, French, Spanish and Russian.

3. The Rebbe’s fascinating full-length talk from 5741 about solar energy, and its geo-political importance. The address was delivered in connection with the occasion of Birchas Hachama.

    It really bothers me when people reffer to birchas hachama as a once or twice in a lifetime event.

    it should be a 2 or 3 in a lifetime event, at least! may we all say it many more times than that with the coming of Moshiach.

    So who said anything about once in a lifetime? The headline is “once in a generation” – which is correct; a generation is typically around 25-30 years.

    The Rebbe refered to it in 1981 as a once-in-a-generation event. A generation is commonly calculated as 25 years.
