  • WOW!!!

This video is amazing…there should be cameras like this at every intersection. It’s really clear…how come the red suv didn’t stop to help? Is the Yid OK?

  • good Q

It appears like the silver van ran the redlight and at high speed too, the green van looked like it was slowly getting ready to go when his light turned green, along with the red suv, the suv only stopped cuz he saw the accident taking place. When he was sure the accident was over he drove off.
Its hard to see the pedestrian walk signal. hmm.. So what was it really?

  • Yanky

The Lubavitcher driver also has a “Don’t Walk” signal on Crown St. This could have happened immediately after the Crown St. signal turned red.

Also, the red care might not have taken off immediately upon the signal turning green. Presumably the shock of seeing such a serious accident would be enough to cause the driver to pause.

    The video is ambiguous.

  • CONCLUSION?

so what happened in the end? whose fault was it…thought obviously not the lubavitcher, it proves it so obviously on cam…so..?

  • mendy/ vancouver

if you notice the red SUV stopped at the red light, starts to inch forward, and I think that is why the northbound car decided to run the red(thinking that it is indeed green since the car next to it is moving) and thus causing him to run a red.

  • Chanie

If you look at the pedestrian sign on Crown ST., you will notice that it has the don’t walk signal on. That means the silver car coming down Crown St. had the right of way.

  • hope no one-s hurt

The white car obviously!!! He’s speeding away, trying to catch the light (which was already red) while the green one was slowly accelerating, as if his light had just turned green and he was getting ready to go. No one slowly drives through a red light. sorry to say but the Yid is at fault here, he should have been more careful. And when something is so obvious its not right to try to portray the whole thing in a mysterious light, as if we are NOT SURE who is at fault, just cuz he is a yid. The fact that the red suv drove off only later means nothing about the status of the lights at that point, it only means he was a careful driver who stopped when he saw an accident happening and drove off, regardless of what color the light was when both cars had fully stopped from the accident. Shame he drove off though cuz he would have been a perfect witness as to what color the light really was.

  • Inurance

Was this video submitted to the cops and to the victim’s insurance company? If not, it won’t do any good.

  • sam the man

its pretty obvious that the yid didnt go on red the pedestrian light changes to walk only after everything settles and they exit their cars

  • a little confuding

It seems that the light was yellow on crown st. and the silver minivan sped up to make it through, and the green van took a pure red and almost green, any other opinions?

  • moishe der g

well it is obvious the car going up kingston took the light started to go when the light was still red

not the car going down crown street

look at the walk dont walk sign (in the right hand corner of the video) and you can see it was a solid red “dont walk” when the car going up kingston started going he went too early

if you watch the video long enough you can see it chang from walk (light color) to dont walk dark color)

boy these cameras are great they should ticket the car going up kingston

  • shmuli

    to good Q:
Have a look at 17 second mark and again at 1:03 where you can see the light change. its real clear to see the pedestrian walk signal.

We all dream off a bit when we are behind a light, and when we see some one take off (like the dark min van) we assume that its green, but then you see light and stop like the red SUV that stop because he/she checked the light. (and not because of the accident)

  • Ose Shalom

You crazy? after such an impact you do not rush out of your car!! chas vesholom your neck can snap or you can get serious spinal injury!! never should you move after such a large impact crash!!!!!

Webby please post this info in the main story so that ppl should know in the future (c“v h”l)

Ask any hatzalah member and he will tell this to you!

  • driver

the car coming down crown had the right of way..if any of u guys drive u would know the second one light turns green the walk sign goes on at the corner so being that the dont walk was still on crown the crown st light was green…and in general the crown st light is realy long…it will blink on kigston for a long time before it actualy turns green which is y the guy on kingston prob started going…but its pretty clear the yid had the right of way!!

  • Conclusion?

    to mendy/vancouver:
thats no excuse. You can’t blame it on the fact that he thought, she thought the accident was caused by him, because he ran the light, and the other guy had NOTHING to do with it. He…was on a green.

  • Yanky

    Hope No one:

The Red driver didn’t leave until after the Kingston Ave. walk signal was white; meaning he left immediately after the light turned green.

  • boggled!

Anyone notice how the driver of the silver vehicle gets out of his car while its STILL MOVING!!!? causing it to bump the blue car. so dangerous!

  • me myself and i

I love this guy in the silver car, he must have been drunk or somthing….

notice how the guy gets out of the car befor he even puts the car in park and his car bangs a secong car

  • In the know

The only posibility is that the silver car ran a yellow, which still puts him at the right of way, and the green car ran a clean red, albeit a few seconds before it turned green. it still is a red!

Remember, even if the silver car was speeding, the green car should not have been in the intersection at the time, making him the cause of the accident!

  • simintov

Our original opinion was that the yid went through the red. However, after watching this video on zoom for a ridiculous amount of time, and squinting carefully at all the crosswalk signs, we’ve changed our minds. It seems clear that mendy from vancouver is right and that the yid DID NOT have a red. The red suv DID inch forward first but stopped BEFORE the accident, NOT BECAUSE HE SAW AN ACCIDENT OCCURRING. His line of vision of the oncoming gray van would have been blocked by the van to his right which quickly moved ahead of him. The red SUV stopped because he still had a red.

In addition, the WALK sign on the right turned green shortly AFTER the accident, but not so long after, that the lights could have gone through an entire cycle.
The yid was definitely going faster than I’d want to see on MY streets, but he did not have a red.

  • just an observation

so why did the guy driving the silver van get out before stopping? then he tries to jump back in to stop the car… that’s nuts! the blue car gets hit for nothing. this guy wasn’t thinking too clearly and definitely speeding as he came down Crown St even though pedestrians were in the intersection.

  • be careful not right

The silver car was going to fast even if he had the right of way. I have a three door mini van and yids and especially goyim start drivng faster when i try to take the baby off the car seat, when the door opens on the wrong side. I always watch for cars when i’m driving at an intersection. The yid was innocent, but should have not been driving that fast because that would not have happened. People do stupid things like this they take red lights.

  • thinker

i think having the footage of a few moments before the accident would help. then we can see if the red and green cars stopped and waited at the intersection -for the duration of their red light, and waited for the green light- or not.

  • Why do ppl think they know everything

Wow it’s amazing how some ppl just don’t understand how the street signals work.

The green van (Non Jew) entered the intersection 16 seconds (That’s right sixteen seconds) before he had the green light, the way the walk sign works,
1)Green (Traffic Signal has been red for 2 seconds already)
    2)Blinking Don’t walk
    3)Steady Don’t Walk
    4)Yellow
    5)Red
6)Green (Both the Walk and Traffic signal change the same instant)

And don’t forget that there are between
    2 and 8 seconds between steps 3,4,5 and 6.

THE GREEN VAN IS AT FAULT PERIOD!!!

Anyone who argues with that hasn’t walked the streets in ages!

  • zay a mench

the fact that the “dont walk” signal one its a prouve that he had a green light at the same time he turn red the dont walk turn to walk

  • Witness

Was at the scene. Although I didn’t see the accident but there was a whole group of women standing there. They all said the silver van ran the red red light.

  • EF

With everyone’s judging, you don’t help your fellow brother in any way. It is already very hard to be in an accident, so please be carefull whit what you write.
One example about judging and about things written above:
The Yid got out of the driving car, cause the airbags had popped and along came smoke, he thought the car was on fire and quickly jumped out!
(I heared this from the victim’ wife, only an hour after it all happened)
    So don’t judge so quickly!!!!

  • Isreali Soldeir (chabadnik)

Someone made a comment stating “who takes a red going slowly so he must have the green light”. Well as someone who takes red lights for a living I’ll tell you, you definitely go slowly if you’re taking a red light you and its not your right of way. its the law to proceed with due regard.

now my opinion isn’t much different from everyone else’s the silver car albeit going to fast had the right of way the steady walk signal proves that and besides lets not forget from when one light turns from green to red there is a 3 second gap to when the other light turns red to green this way ppl aren’t caught in the intersection.
the video is clear the red car inches forward the green car muscle him out by taking the light and then the crash happens the red SUV doesn’t go until his light changes and has nothing to do with being in shock he drove off very nicely not paying attention.

BH no one looks seriously hurt on the video. and with Hashems help may all accidents end in property damage and not bodily damage.

I would also like to note the great response time by the NYPD and EMS if you notice the video shows they got there roughly within 5 mins of the accident. Bravo guys…

  • ENGLISH ONLY!!

zay a mench needs to learn English so that what he says can be understood. He may be making an observation based on this video that could have far reaching ramifications across the city, nay even the State, but how would we know???

  • observer

    BY THE WAY..
if you watch the surveillance after the Police have arrived one can see a red van inching out and only once the ped. signal changes to green does he actually drives off from kingston to crown. (just like the orig. red SUV) it is clear to see from that just how the lights work. (check out the clip from around 5.48 (or even b4 to see the cars from Crown St go)

  • A concerned person

After viewing these “tapes” and past “Tapes” from around the neighborhood that have helped solve crimes and other wonderful things, I am reminded of a promise by the vaad hakol to place cameras all over the neighborhood. All I have seen so far is local businesses and home owners (thank you Apple Drugs) taking it upon themselves to place cameras on the outside of their properties. While this has helped, we need more people like them to make our neighborhood safe.
We need a program to coordinate these things and help place them where people cant (for what ever the reason). If we wait for the vaad do take action, It will never happen
Thanks again to people like S. Gutleizer for spending your time and money to start this program. Hopefully many others will soon follow.

  • My opinion

I think the Green van is at fault. He started to go because he saw the Red suv start to go and took off based on the Red suv next to him. I’m sure the Silver van was running a yellow light or even red. But, I think it was the Green van that went into the intersection early, based on the seeing the Red suv begin to accelerate. So it’s really the green van that’s at fault here, he went into the intersection before he had a green light.

  • ben

Its very possible they both ran red lights! you may have noticed that many lights in NYC now have a longer “all red” period, they can even be 5 seconds long when all the lights are red.

    My Analyzation:
the driver of the silver minivan speeds up to catch the yellow light, but it may have even turned red already.

the green mini van sees all the dont walks turn red and assumes his light is turning green in 1 second and drives off without bothering to check if the light was actually green or red.

    so who’s at fault??
unless the green van can prove that the silver van ran a red he’s at fault, if he can prove both light were red then its a shared fault

  • Real News

Can someone share with me why this is news to anyone but the parties involved?

  • Witness

    Correction:

Was at the scene and all the womwn there said that the silver van did NOT run the red light. Rather the grenn van ran the red light.

  • crown st.

mr. green van left a bit early to try to catch the carrol street light, he figured he would get a bit of a head start. and mr silver van was just trying to make this light so what it was a bit yellow at the time

  • FINAL SOLUTION!

play the video and wait two seconds and pause it. then right click on the top of the traffic light which is in the middle of the screen and click zoom in 3 times you will see a green like bloch that shows that the traffic light is green for crown street which shows that the silver car had the right of way.

  • apple drugs fan!

i think we should get shloimy and marvin from apple to judge the case.

  • Mendy

give the yid a break. he just got into an accident. He was probably freaked out, and jumped out of his car to check if the other guy was ok. Ye, he obviously should have put his car in park first, but apparently he was so shooken up.

  • mendelbomb

basically, wherever these guys were rushing to, they didn’t get there.

  • airbags

cant you all see how white smoke comes out of the yids car when he gets out? its the smoke from the airbags exploding.

as somone who was in an accident with airbags deploying i can tell you that there is an overwhelming urge to get out of the car and run, you wonder is the car going to explode or somthing.

trust me the last thing i would be worring about is if my car is in park.

  • YOSEL G

THE CAR THAT HIT AN OTHER CAR IS ALWAYS AT FALUT, BUT NOFALUT WILL DEAL WITH IT WHY WAS THE SILVER SPEEDING TO CATCH MO’SEE’AH
