wow there is a lot we can learn from the video.
like it says in the beginning that the police have to look in your eye with a look that thay are there for you and want to help.
    and for that to happen:
    1) stop talking on the cell phones
    2) stop with the flashing lights that let us know that your parked the wrong way to chat with a friend thats on duty
    3) not to have 5 people on one corner
    now thats just for beginners

To 701: He was Rabbi Schrage , unfortunately he left this world at a young age after doing many good things for crown heights. You can read the crown heights newspaper from a few months ago to find out all about him.

Great video – thanks for posting.

Can anybody identify the people we see in crown heights? It would be really interesting to see who they are… thanks!

there you go you answered your own suggestion with your comment – you yourself called them hot heads they cant learn from anyone else they are standing hogher than all other.

  • the real story

actually, it started by a few guys that did a great job b4 Rabbi Shrage. They did it quietly, and would bring the mugger into the station, where the police were quite thankful!
Then, when Rabbi Shrage heard about it, he decided to take the lead, and named it maccabbees, and did it in a way that the police weren’t so happy with.
The original guys backed out when they saw what was happening.
    The originators were then forgotten.
    By most.
