New Video Footage From JLI’s Mission to Israel

Rave reviews are still pouring in about the JLI’s Mission to Israel. The mission comprised of 35 Shluchim and over 300 participants from JLI affiliates worldwide who just concluded a 6 week course entitled “The Land & the Spirit- Why We All Care About Israel”.

One of the many highlights of the trip was a specially arranged visit to an IDF base near Beer Sheva. Some 500 paratroopers participated in a festive outdoor farewell Bar-B-Q and lively dancing with the Mission participants. Participants were given an exclusive demonstration on the firing range as well. The Shluchim took the opportunity to lay Tefillin on dozens of soldiers and many of the Balei Batim were inspired and committed to putting on Tefillin daily.

IMHO some of the footage is ectremely innapropriate as it shows shluchim acting loosely, mimicking the lower echelons of society, and stooping to the level of goyishkeit. I highly doubt that R’ Mendel Futerfas or any respectable mashpia or Rabbi would act in this fashion and I find it difficult to believe that the Rebbe would have ‘nachas ruach’ from this public (or private) behavior of his Shluchi (By the way I’m a shliach myself).
